Hi everyone, this week we’re talking about recruiting going digital. Innovation is happening in the recruiting space. There are recruiting tech companies popping up solving all kinds of problems. Some tech companies are taking their own internal recruiting to the next level. My opinion is this: there will always be a place for humans in recruiting; it’s a people-oriented business. I’m a fan of anything that enhances the human experience and/or provides transparency to candidates. Let’s dive deeper, read on.

As always, please reply and let me know what you think. We love hearing from you.

Have a great week!

Recruiting in a Digital World

Recruiting and the way we market ourselves has vastly changed in the past two decades and technology is at the forefront. The tools available today are far superior than the traditional tools used in the past.

One tool that has exploded in the past year is video. Video interviews, video job descriptions and even video resumes. Video is the new outlet for meeting people, promoting your organization and promoting yourself. Here at Distinguished Search we started using video job descriptions this year and so far the feedback has been very positive. It’s a great way for candidates to get better feel for the hiring manager, the role, and the company before they even schedule an interview.

Aside from all the new technology making an major impact on our lives, one thing that hasn't changed in the recruiting process is empathy. You must care about people and employers to be successful. You must build trust and a connection. It's not just about filling seats but instead focusing on connecting great people to great opportunities. These new tools should be used to help enhance the process.

Let us know your thoughts on video taking center stage in the recruiting world.

New and Improved Job Descriptions!

We've hopped on the video job description bandwagon! This brings the JD to life, and also a great way to prepare candidates prior to the first interview. Here's how we've approached it: The recruiter and hiring manager are going to have an intake call anyway, so simply have it on video and record it.
