Mind full or Mindful? Being mindful means staying in touch with everything that is going on with us on a physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual level. The awareness you develop within your daily practices can naturally expand to your day so you start to see and sense more beauty around you, like the way a smile lights up someone's face, or the softness of rain against your skin or the scent of a favorite flower. 

 

5 Ways to Practice Mindfulness 

 

  • Meditation -Being in the now increases your awareness of your feelings & body. Focus your attention on the present, feeling the sensation of your breath as it goes in and out of your body.
  • Moments of Gratitude- The sun rose today and so did I. Each morning write a list of 5 things you are grateful for. Tag us on IG @davinalanelle 
  • Remind Yourself to Switch Off- Our minds are like machines that can easily become overwhelmed. Remind yourself to take breaks, walk around, get fresh air. 
  • It's Not Personal- Take nothing personally. How others react and how they treat us is coming from them. Just as our behavior comes from us. 
  • Move with Intention- Each day set a list of intentions you wish to accomplish that day.  

No. 2 Be Well 

#BluFlow Asana of The Week- Trikonasana or Triangle Pose

 

Benefits: Stretches legs, ankles, abdominal muscles. Opens chest and shoulders to allow for deeper breathing. Used therapeutically for anxiety, neck pain and sciatica.  

 

Caution: Use caution if there has been any recent or chronic injury of the back, hip or neck.

  • A time of high emotions; this full moon will make you feel more sensitive but you are able to understand conflicting emotions. 
  • More sympathetic, understanding & compassionate 

 

What should you do? 

  • Release any emotions or experiences you may be holding on to. 
  • Set intentions while imagining a brighter future
  • Place crystals outside or on window seal to be cleansed & charged by moon
  • Clean & declutter space

During this week think about what is on repeat, what is it that you keep saying "I should..." or "I can't..." to. 

 

List 10 things you want to accomplish and list the reasons why you think you're not doing it. Then choose 3 of items from the list to create your "I WILL..." affirmations. Click below for freebie feel free to use as a phone screensaver. 

 

💙Example:

I want to gain more flexibility with my yoga poses. I think I am not doing it because I have not devoted the time to it. 

Affirmation: I WILL devote time to one yin asana stretch each week.
