It's been in the 100s here with 110+ heat index. The last few Saturday mornings I've been going on bike rides with my hubby while the boys sleep in. Even though cycling creates a breeze, that intense heat still beats down and I have to do a little mental recalibration to keep going, especially when our route takes us around a longer way than anticipated! We did 22 miles on this last one and it was my longest ride to date. (Someone keeps tacking on a couple more miles each time!) My hubby likes a good challenge and sticks to it tenaciously... a quality that has helped get us to our 29th anniversary, so it's working for us!

These long rides + the oppressive summer heat make it a perfect time for me to explore the concept of being STEADFAST in a variety of ways.

As we traipse through our daily verses this month, I'd encourage you to consider how they apply to different areas of your life. Maybe there's a couple scriptures that would be a poignant focus for this new school year or to pray over a particular challenge you/your family is facing?

August 2021 -> -> -> 31 Days of Steadfastness

These verses are an interesting mix of God's steadfastness as well as encouragements re: our ability to "stand firm" and steadfast.

Steadfast & True

And what says "Steadfast" like those sturdy cacti out in the desert?? I'm excited to launch this new BQ template that my sis-in-law designed called Cactus Cuties.

You may even have some cactus stickers or washi tape to use with it since it seems like succulents are a popular accent these days.

I did my page on Thirst. You can see how it developed here.

What will you do with the Cactus Cuties???

Do you have a friend or family member that you Bible Quilt with regularly? It sure boosts your motivation and creativity if you're able to gather together to share ideas... and even more fun if you swap some cute supplies!

BQ EVENTS

The BQ Fall Line-up is loaded on the website! I tried to pick dates that have some predictably, especially for our in-person sessions. So save those 2nd Tuesday evenings each month to come join our in-person BQ fellowship!

I kept the Zoom chats on Tuesday mornings like we've been having. (Vicki, I love having you pop in on your lunch hour!) I targeted Tuesdays as the end of the month so we can discuss how we're launching the theme for the following month.

Hopefully, you'll find your groove for this BQ structure along with us. I may add in a Craft Night or a blend of in-person/zoom along the way. If you've got some other ideas, please let me know! Saturdays are a precious commodity for families and often packed with sports. If we get one free, maybe we'll throw a BQ session in there, too! Contact me if you've got a few friends interested and that can be a core group to inspire me to get a BQ event started!

Next BQ Zoom Chat:  Tomorrow!!

Tuesday, August 3rd 11-11:30 am (central)

Hope you can join us!!

Enjoy these sunny days of August and some fun back-to-school shopping with the kiddos in your life!

Hugs,

Di
