Members of our Board Mariah, Victoria, and Bart represented WAITB at last month's Girls Achieving Leadership in Aviation Summer Camp. Outreach Chair Victoria and Membership Chair Bart participated in the aviation jewelry workshop and the campers got to hear about member Victoria's journey in aviation while creating aviation themed jewelry.

Vice President Mariah spoke on a panel alongside a few amazing women including former Astronaut Nicole Stott and Marilyn Gauthier, who is the General Manager of General Aviation for the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority. The young campers had an opportunity to hear about different opportunities in the aviation industry. If we were able to encourage at least one camper, we have done our job.

Girls Achieving Leadership in Aviation Scholarship!

Application window runs through July 31.

To be considered for the GALA Scholarship, applicants must: 
   • Be between the ages of 16 and 20 at the time of application 
   • Have a keen interest in or currently pursuing a career in aviation.
