FEBRUARY 2024 Updates from STUDIO HROMI |
Hello newsletter recipients! I'm showing up in your inbox a bit later in the month than usual because so much of my time over the last few weeks was spent preparing for Concerts Under the Stars. Speaking of which... THANK YOU to those of you who attended! Both nights were so fun, especially Friday's sold out show. The Museum sent me a recording of the performance, so I'll probably post some edited clips to my neglected YouTube channel eventually. There's nothing quite like the real thing since being in the planetarium is such an immersive experience, but the documentation is still pretty cool. What an honor and a delight that I get to work on such interesting projects (advice: don't burn bridges, because your former employers just might invite you back as a collaborator someday). |

PRODUCT FEATURES: clearance! |
At the end of 2023 I began phasing out certain products and discounting some pieces that had been sitting on the proverbial shelf for quite some time (plus a few other items that are on sale just for fun). This year I will be overhauling my shop offerings in pretty significant ways, so now is your chance to take advantage of a good deal and snag some of these things before they're gone for good! Shop here. |

| | Houseplant prints will be discontinued this year |
| | Only a few flash card mini notebooks remain and won't be restocked |
| | Planet notebooks will be replaced with an updated design |
| | Older collages are heavily discounted |

Below are a couple of interesting and illuminating articles I've collected in the last month, both related to the medical illustration industry. |
At the end of 2023 I illustrated cover artwork for an article in the European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, "Structural Changes to the Gd-DTPA Complex at Varying Ligand Protonation State" by Dr. Thomas J. Summers, Ravi D. O'Brien, Dr. Josiane A. Sobrinho, Prof. Dr. Ana de Bettencourt-Dias, Prof. Dr. David C. Cantu. The article—including the cover feature—was recently published. Read more here. |

I'm excited to announce that three of my original analog collages (Aluminum, Charmed, and It's All You Need) will be featured in the "I Heart Recycled Art" exhibition taking place at ArtRat Gallery and Cocoon Art Space over the next two months. If you're in Grand Rapids, join me at opening night on March 1st, or drop by and see the exhibition through its duration (March 1st-April 28th) any time during both of the galleries' open hours. |

My market calendar for spring and summer will soon start to fill up. See studiohromi.com/events for the full schedule and details about where/when I'll be selling my goods in person. You can also shop anytime online at studiohromi.com/shop and Redbubble, and while supplies last at the Grand Rapids Public Museum Curiosity Shop and Scorpion Hearts Club. I'm currently looking for one or two additional local spots to sell my wares, so if you have any ideas for shops that would be a good fit please pass them along! |

As always, Instagram is where I'm most active online, but you can follow me on any of the social media platforms below, plus Tumblr and Threads. |
