Hi friends,

Happy New Year, and a warm welcome to you to the first newsletter of 2024!

While I often find the close of a year/start of another to be a bit overwhelming, I've begun to look at the arrival of a new year as not merely the flipping of a calendar page, but more as a profound opportunity for renewal, growth, and the pursuit of aspirations. It is a promise of new beginnings. There are endless possibilities that the coming months hold, and we all have endless potential for the next 365 days...

New Work

I’m beginning the year by making art, with the intention that the art-making will carry throughout the year. Here’s a WIP of one of the newest, a mixed media painting with watercolor, gouache, ink and gold leaf.

I’m tentatively titling this one “Keys to life” with the key literally being a metaphor for how life can be a tangled mess. It’s full of trials and tribulations, ups and downs, and is unique to every single person on the planet.

I had mentioned in my previous newsletter that I have TWO shows this spring. I’m still curating my ideas and theme for each, but I know they’ll heavily feature birds.

I also ran the timeline through the calendar and realized that I need to make 2.5 pieces of art each week in order to meet my goal number of pieces. Good thing I live by my planner…

Get Sh*t Done.

I’m a firm believer that routines get sh*t done.

And there’s nothing better than to literally cross something off. If I know what to focus on by setting my priorities ahead of time, I don’t waste time trying to figure out what to do (or lose precious minutes sucked into social scrolling). I’ve learned that my most productive days are when the routine is in place.

Over the years I’ve tried many different planners, and decided I needed to make one myself designed for optimal productivity, and that I definitely needed to share it with others!

Say hello to your most productive and inspired year yet! Crafted with creative entrepreneurs in mind, this planner helps you stay focused, set meaningful goals, and ACHIEVE THEM in 2024.

Inspired by elements that worked for me, and soliciting feedback from fellow makers, this planner helps you align your daily priorities for moving bigger goals forward. It also has a time-block style scheduler, because if you define time for it, you’re more likely to make the time for it. Plus, I included a daily routine check box, hydration tracker (because that’s hella important), and a space for a braindrop list.

It also includes a section for annual planning, quarterly planning, and a 12-monthl calendar section. All of it is undated, which makes it evergreen for a completely customizable planner.

There is a very limited quantity, so if you’re an analog to-do-er like me, snag one today!

Be Brave

Speaking of goals… one of my goals last year was to create a LOOK BOOK to distribute to #dreamclients.

I spent most of the year putting this together, using real and fictional projects, and printed it (locally!) with some unique features to make it memorable. I am about to start sending them to some local companies and business that I would love to work with, the first batch should hit the mail this next week!

I’m sure I’ll get a lot of “No's" …if I receive a response at all.

But if you want something, you have to go after it. You have to put it into the universe. You have to make your own luck.

Do you have a dream project? I urge you to go after it. Be brave.

Tiptastic No. 10

I’m going to keep this Tiptastic super quick…

Make sure your website is mobile-optimized.

Most businesses build their websites for desktop. But you need to ensure your website works great and looks beautiful on mobile, as well. If a visitor can't view or navigate your site easily, they're going to leave and find your competitor.

The best thing you can do for your online presence is to build your website for your audience. Your audience is on mobile. Your website is in their pocket. Here's a peek at my own website visitors for the past 90 days:

Based on this graph, 439 visitors are on mobile and 11 visitors on tablet, versus 314 on desktop.

In researching the #dreamclient companies that I wanted to send my Look Book to, I found that many of them did not have a mobile or tablet-friendly site. It makes me wonder, how many sales or connections are they missing simply because their website is not mobile-optimized…?

If you have a business website, the best thing you can do right now is prioritize making it mobile-friendly.

Thank you for giving me space in your inbox. Here's to a year filled with accomplishments, growth, and meaningful joy.

Your friend,

Brianna Reagan
