Mark your calendars. On or near July 1st, 2023 we will switch the trail direction to run "the other way" which in this case will be counter-clockwise. Amelia is the only park in South Florida to reverse direction twice a year, thus giving us 2 parks in one, and allowing us to get a fresh perspective of the trail geometry. This also lets us hone our skills on some features as we tackle them backwards which helps us develop skills.
But it's not all fun and games, this trail direction switch adds a hidden layer of complexity to the trail planning, building and the types of features we can build as anything and everything we build MUST be bi-directional. And we wouldn't have it any other way. This trail direction switch is one of the most relished features of this park and very looked forward to. Over the years we've developed a system to make the switch easier but it's still a process that takes plenty of planning in advance to execute seamlessly on the day of.

In partnership with The Shred Academy, we have begun working on Amelia Earhart MTB Trails very own Skills and Jumps Section. Located on Chupacabra's North East finger, the skills section will have a little bit of everything for everybody. Three individual Jump Lines will allow riders to develop skills gradually, starting with a mild, rollable A line, to a more intermediate B line and a third Pro Line with gaps. When the build is completed, the Shred Academy will provide clinics to help you reach your goals and develop skills that will make you a true certified shredder, ready to tackle jumps in any park.
Aside from the jumps we will also have progressive Drops for developing skills when descending. These drops will range from mild to wild. Lastly, we will have skinnies and a teeter totter to round out your skills with balancing and weight distribution. The skills section is located in a beautiful wooded area with plentiful tree cover and fresh breeze.
The funding drive for the Skills and Jumps Section is two-fold.
We currently have a GoFundMe campaign that is yearning for loving from the MTB Jumper/Shredder Community. Every little bit helps. All donations go towards equipment rental and diesel fuel purchases.
Calling out SPONSORS that want to be an integral part of this area. By becoming sponsors your company will receive recognition within the Skills Section via banners and branding as well as your brand will be placed on trail signage, t-shirts and also you will have preferential treatment during jump jams and other events. Contact us today to discuss specifics!
Volunteers old and new, stay tuned for an up and coming Volunteer Appreciation Day for volunteers and their families. Enjoy another side of Amelia as we meet up to enjoy delicious BBQ and nothing else. Enjoy riding the trail with your wife and kids, or knocking back brewskis by the lake. We will be parking inside the volunteer yard away from the hustle bustle of the park. This event is for volunteers only!
Have you considered volunteering? We have something for everyone and at every skill level. Everyone's motivation sometimes is different, some people do it to get away from their air conditioned, fluorescent lit office-centric world... others do it to spend time with nature, enjoy smelling the outdoors. Others do it for the workout aspect of it, to get a good sweat going and others do it for their love of MTB and the Community. Any of the above is a good reason to come out, and we are a welcoming community ready to take more members in for weekend work or weekday afternoon mini trail fixes.
HI VIZ Yellow is Optional!! We only wear it because we're washing the same 3 shirts over and over, in lieu of destroying every shirt we own. But you are welcome to come ruin your shirt if you want!

By far, the most impactful thing your business can do is to set up advertising at the Park. A proud mountain bike community supports each other's businesses and helps each other grow together. We have several sponsorship levels and are also open to doing a-la-carte sponsorships to fit all budgets. This is a 50-50 win for both the park and your business. Contact us at ameliatrails@gmail.com to schedule a site visit to discuss options.
