WEBSITE

Our website has had a major make-over; please have a look. Constructive feedback welcome.

ASSISTANT CHURCHWARDEN

Happily Robert Mason has accepted Fr Gareth and Churchwarden Margaret Quinney’s invitation to take up the new post of Assistant Churchwarden for St Mary’s. He will work with Margaret and our Deputy Churchwarden Arthur Dike on-day to-day practical aspects of site management.

PATRONAL FESTIVAL Sunday 8 September

We shall celebrate our Patronal Festival on Sunday 8September as part of the usual 10am Mass and not on the Saturday as previously advertised. We look forward to welcoming Canon Ann Clarke, former Team Rector of Becontree South, as our preacher. More details nearer the time.

MIRFIELD RETREAT 18-22 May 2020

Enough people have now expressed an interest to make this retreat viable. The cost will be around £400 per person. If you are interested, add your name to the list at the back of church. No financial commitment is required around November. More details will follow.

MINISTRY AND MISSION UNIT (MMU)

The clergy of St Luke’s, St Mary’s and St Margaret’s had an away day last week and each will be presenting the beginnings of a draft MMU Charter to PCCs over the coming months.

FR GARETH’S LEAVE

Fr Gareth will be on leave from after the 10am Mass today until Mass on Thursday 29 August. During that time Mass will be celebrated on Thursdays at 10am (with Jesus Prayer at 9.30am) and Sundays at 10am only and there will be no other public services. Please direct any parish/church enquiries to Margaret Quinney, who holds a list of priests to contact in case of pastoral emergency. Routine matters may be referred to Colin Newman using the office contact details on the front page.
