Hello, from the LANCE Trust’s small but busy team! We really appreciate your support: signing up to our newsletter, following our Facebook page and volunteering (see below for further opportunities to help out).

Our mission, as ever, is to maintain and increase biodiversity in and around Long Ashton, here’s what’s happening…

🚰 If you do one thing this month for wildlife...

It has been an extremely wet spring. The relatively warm winter and relentless rain in the past few months have caused all kinds of confusion for wildlife. However, we are seeking the silver lining of these rainy clouds! To capitalise on the downpours, we recommend you set up at water butt at one of your down-pipes. They are relatively low-cost and easy to install and you'll save litres of water that may seem abundant now, but will be precious by summer.

🌳 Hedge planting success

We were blown away by the dedication of 150+ volunteers who battled wintry weather to help us plant thousands of hedgerow whips in February. A HUGE thank you!
