As many of you know, I have dedicated a year to writing a book, an almanac of conscious practices within the realm of Spiritual Ecology. I am delayed. Right now, I am stuck in April, as I decided to change genre and rewrite the first three chapters. I have the pleasure of writing about water and quantum biologist Nikolaj Sorgenfrei Blom.
Slowly learning more about water, I feel like a fish, suddenly becoming aware of what it's immersed in. You read these letters through water and understand them through water, as your eyes and brain are mostly water. Water is subtle and humble and everywhere. You are always in relationship to it, and it knows both your sweat, the roots of the oak and the spit of the jaguar. Goethe said, "All is born of water, all is sustained by water."
A lot of things are happening in my life, and I try not to categorize them as good or bad. They just occur. It is like a stream with a powerful current, and if you throw in a twig, you'll see it move up and down in unforeseen patterns.
I have recently learned how to float (my butt and legs have up until now been too heavy!). So - a revelation to me and most likely common knowledge to you - is the fact that you have to keep your head leveled with the surface of the water. Be level-headed (actually means 'being able to easily deal with difficult situations'). Allow the water to fill your ears, caress your cheeks, and magic will happen. Your heavy body becomes a twig.
So, I plunge into the changes and try to float my way through them, listening to the waters underneath the surface.
Two weeks ago, in a deep meditation, a sentence came to me. It has been a guiding star for me ever since. Maybe it will help your being and practice, too.
The sentence is: How can I serve this moment?
With love,
Birgitte
