Fun Facts about our Farm Stand

  • We operate on the honor system which means we are not present to watch you shop or exchange money. Instead, we place our trust in you to shop honestly and pay truthfully. For your safety and our peace of mind, we do have security cameras in the Stand and throughout the Homestead. If you are truly in need of something from our Stand, please seek us out.

  • For payment, we accept EXACT cash, local checks, Venmo and Paypal. Cash and checks may be placed in our secure lockbox located within the stand.

  • Repurposed shopping bags are available for your goodies. If you have unwanted reusable bags, feel free to place them in the Stand for others to use.

  • We welcome and encourage you to return any used, clean canning jars as well as our unique egg cartons. Cartons cannot contain egg goo.

  • We cannot stress enough how important it is to us that you DRIVE EXTRA EXTRA SLOWLY on our property. We have cats, dogs, chickens and, soon-to-arrive, geese roaming around. One of our doggos was accidentally run over by a mail carrier a few years ago due to driving too fast and our dog making poor choices. Fortunately, he survived but we still kindly ask that you drive ridiculously slow. Thank you.

  • Our driveway is shaped like a horseshoe so you are welcome to drive on through instead of backing out. You are welcome to park in grassy areas, the gravel driveway, the side of the road, or directly in front of the stand. Again, please drive super slow.

  • Our feathered friends love visitors and it would be our pleasure to escort you to the barn. You are welcome to simply seek us out for a tour or give us a call/text to plan ahead (608-957-9238). If we aren't around then please refrain from roaming around, for safety and liability purposes.

HONK HONK!

Our goslings are scheduled to arrive next week! Yay! We are expecting 5 males and 5 females, and we'll need your help naming a few of them. Watch for a separate email this month about a naming competition....complete with prizes!

PRE-ORDERS

* Starts next week, May 8th.*

Eggs and fresh bread are available in the stand on a first come first serve basis. If you'd like to ensure you don't miss out on these popular goodies, we suggest placing a special order ahead of time.

Orders must be placed online by Wednesday of each week for pick up that same Thursday-Sunday (you'll get to choose which day you want). Your goodies will be bagged up with your name on them in the Stand.

NEW: PICKLED EGGS

You either love 'em or hate 'em...but I hope you at least try them before deciding. With the help of my Ciocia Agnes' recipe (Ciocia means Auntie in Polish), I've turned our fresh chicken eggs into a unique treat. They truly taste like a dilly pickle and I eat them almost every day. They're yummy as a simple snack, sliced into a fresh salad or topped off on a delicious bloody/virgin Mary. Some say that I'm the perfect Flock Mama Boss of our sweet chickens but when it comes to peeling their hard boiled eggs I definitely have room for improvement.

With that said, don't be surprised if you find imperfect/ugly eggs - the pickley flavor is still pucker perfect. You'll also find the hard boiled eggs to be slightly discolored due to the brine and seasonings (sometimes the black peppercorns cause stains). And lastly, the jars of eggs are vacuumed sealed but should still be stored in the fridge before and after popping the seal. I hope you'll give this unique treat a try and share helpful feedback to help me improve. Cheers!

Your pickle loving pal,

Telo
