Dear friends,
We're one month into the new year and have already enjoyed performing some wonderful concerts! We ushered in 2023 with a New Year's concert for the Mozart(k)ring in Berg en Dal: a packed hall (the organisers had to find forty extra chairs!) filled with an appreciative audience who left with smiles on their faces after enjoying uplifting music by Beethoven, Mozart, Kreisler and Johann Strauss!
The following weekend we gave a benefit concert for Ukraine, in De Verbeelding in Zeewolde. It was a special evening, especially as the concert was organised by our good friend Rob van den Broek who generously supported our CD Celebrating Women! with his QEM Foundation. Thank you Rob!
Last Sunday we played in the Jagthuis in Nederhorst den Berg; a (Hidden) Classics concert that had been postponed far too often and we were so happy that it went ahead at last!
And now a quick review of our last concerts of 2022: in the series Randmeerconcerten in Harderwijk, the beautiful music of our Hungarian Rhapsody programme was a delightful discovery for many. We're excited to be playing it again soon, see below!
We closed the year with a festive concert in the beautiful main hall of Theater De Vest in Alkmaar with our programme (Hidden) Classics.
In January we featured in two articles!
First, we were delighted to see our album Celebrating Women! included in a list of recommended recordings or 'gems from 2022’ by Theo Wubbolts, classical music critic of Music Emotion on the website FWD.nl!

And then, especially for our most recent and next concert, Josée Zuiver interviewed Miriam for an in depth article for De Gooi- en Eemlander newspaper. Appearing on January 23, the article covered our backgrounds, our CDs and two concerts; the concert we gave last Sunday in Nederhorst den Berg and our concert next month in Baarn.
In our next newsletter we’ll elaborate on our upcoming project in which we will be focussing on the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach in an exciting collaboration with digital artist Lisette Huizenga.
And here are our upcoming concerts:
* On Sunday 19 February we’ll perform music from Celebrating Women! by Britton Smith, Frensel Wegener and Smyth at 12.00 pm in Kasteel Groeneveld in Baarn.

* On Sunday March 19 we will give a concert in Kapel op 't Rijsselt in Eefde at 11.30 am. Another opportunity to come and hear the wonderful Hungarian Rhapsody programme with works by Haydn, Weiner, Kodály and Dohnányi.
