Happy Friday! Here is a quick snapshot of the Top Shelf items I obsessed over this week! A favorite or new food or recipe crush, a book/quote/podcast, and last but not least, a song I cannot get out of my head. I am so excited to share them with you in the hope of bringing something new and inspiring into your day! |

| | Inspired Caffeine! I absolutely love coffee. In nearly all its forms. Espresso to iced and everything from black to topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. If I were to expose my age, you would find the first indication of this love in the General Foods International Coffees aisle as I fawned over flavors and bought ALL of them. If you missed out on the 1982 Orange Cappuccino... My sincere condolences. The story of Don Valencia, (The chemistry mastermind responsible for my current favorite coffee guilty pleasure, the Starbucks VIA.) illustrates deliciously how failure is an integral part of achieving success. I first heard of Don and VIA in Bob Goff's book, "Love Does," and instantly fell in love with the little silver packets of life-giving caffeine he left behind. With summer, and its iced coffee weather, crawling to a close, I thought it the perfect share on today's Top Shelf. | | |

| | Time to live ALIVE! "Choosing succulence is a deliberate act of personal revolution. It means waking up! Embracing your true self, studying your patterns, and letting out your most alive self. We all have one." A dear friend of mine gave me a copy of "Succulent Wild Woman" by S.A.R.K. for my birthday last year. She said that over the years, she would just pick the book up, open to a page, and without exception be encouraged and/or inspired. I haven't finished going through the whole book yet, but I have to say I feel the same. I curl up from time to time and mull over a few pages, letting its beautiful matter-of-fact simplicity wash over me. If you don't have an inspirational book lying around that you can pick up and just flip through any time you need a little ray of sunshine, I highly recommend this one. | | |

This past week the world lost a legendary source of music, books, and beverages that transport us across carefree waters into a world of "Boats, Beach, Bars & Ballads" ... and on occasion, the library. I have so many memories with a Buffett soundtrack that my favorite lyric or song changes on the regular. Today, this is the one. "Surrounded by stories surreal and sublime, I fell in love in the library once upon a time." Cheers to the legacy of community, silliness, and full-living Jimmy Buffett left in his wake. "Love in the Library" ~ Jimmy Buffett, "Juicy Fruit" |
