"Loujain Dreams of Sunflowers" written by Lina AlHathloul and Uma Mushtaq-Newberry.

Inspired by Loujain AlHathloul, one of the leaders in the Saudi Women's Rights movement, this children's book is about a young girl who dreams of flying in a place where girls are not allowed to fly. As a mom, I am always thinking about how to make sure my eight-year-old daughter starts her journey of finding her voice, her confidence,

and her connection to self now and not 30 years from now...Truthfully, I don't always feel like I have the track record to be the one giving her these life tools. But already, I see her making choices to use her voice, not internalizing shame, speaking up and standing her ground.

It looks like we are on this journey together, Zoe: Learning that we both will fly. Not immediately, but definitely.
