The Miller Team ended 2022 with a BANG and took time to celebrate each other at the super fun annual Miller Barn Christmas Party. The Millers open their house for a night steeped in tradition including pot luck dinner, horse ornament swap and gift exchange. The party had almost 100 attendees and we had a great time celebrating our Barn Family. We ended the month with the ever famous Christmas Eve Horse Swap where everyone that enters gets to ride someone else's horse. This is a highlight for a lot of these kids (and adults) as it is so exciting to ride another horse at the barn that you love! In this newsletter you will also find the scoop on which Miller Equestrian horses made the USEF Horse of the Year Report, as well as many Champions that were honored in The Saddle Horse Report 2022 High Point Report. 2023 TOURNAMENT OF ROSES 134th ROSE PARADE Featuring Cierra Holtz, Amanda White and Kacey Reiner For millions of people around the world, the Rose Parade is an iconic New Year’s Day tradition. The parade route travels 5.5 miles down Colorado Blvd. and features floral-decorated floats, equestrian units, bands, and other tournament entries. The 2023 theme for the Tournament of Roses was “Turning the Corner” celebrating rising above – alone, or with family, friends and community. This year, three of the Miller past and present graced the Scripps Miramar Ranch Equestrian unit - Cierra Holtz, Amanda White and Kacey Reiner! This equestrian unit, led by trainer Michele Macfarlane of Scripps Miramar Ranch, has been showcasing the American Saddlebred horse since 1962. The four-day Jingle Bell Horse Show (December 8-11) at the Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park was cold and rainy, but the horses and riders were sizzling HOT! The Miller Show Team brought 15 horses and 18 rider/drivers to the show, and came home with 24 top ribbons in 32 classes. The Academy Show Team garnered another five ribbons in 10 classes.
