Why is Women’s Sexual Health so Understudied? I never thought I'd say "I am a penis doctor" on national television, but here we are. I joined Rachel Gross, author of Vagina Obscura, and PBS NewsHour correspondent Ali Rogin for a conversation about the clitoris. But of course, there's no reason we shouldn't be talking about these things on national television--sexual health is just health, after all. And quality of life matters. We need to start talking about it, and keep talking about it, and demanding equal care for people of all genders. Check out the full video here! And subscribe to our YouTube channel for more. |

In case you didn't see, the New York Times recently published an article by Rachel Gross about the clitoris, featuring our practice. It expands on the topics covered in the PBS interview, and is a must-read. Check it out here! |

This past week, the Sexual Medicine Society of North America and the International Society for Sexual Medicine held their annual conference. I spent many hours hearing updates on the latest research in sexual medicine, covering topics like erectile dysfunction, shock wave therapy, testosterone, pelvic pain, clitoral nerves, and low libido. |
I had the chance to be a faculty member for a course on female sexual medicine, where I talked to providers from around the world about genitourinary syndrome of menopause. I also moderated sessions on peyronie's disease, erectile dysfunction, and women's sexuality across their lifespans. |
But the highlight of the conference was seeing all the young, brilliant clinicians and students who are the next generation of sexual medicine specialists. I am extremely proud to serve as a mentor and facilitator for our Sexual Medicine Research Team (SMRT), who presented 7 research abstracts at the meeting. SMRT is a group of students, advocates, and physicians who are tired of telling patients, "We just don't have the data for that." They are passionate about changing the narrative around sexual medicine through research, education, and advocacy. Full program and abstracts here! |

Need a SexMed Provider? The overwhelming support we have been receiving is truly touching. We don't have enough hours in the day to see patients who need care immediately, but there are great providers around the world who are invested in sexual health. If you are looking for a provider closer to home or want to be seen sooner, find a qualified provider who is a member of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH). For male patients check out the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA). |
