From the President 2020 - 2022 Melanie Hoffman |

Fellow Zontians, I am so excited for the start to the new year! I am so proud of what we have accomplished this biennium and excited to see what we will be able to accomplish in the remaining months. At the start of the biennium we talked about many goals for the upcoming years that we would like to accomplish. Little did we know that after the January strategic planning session Covid 19 would hit us and we would have to adapt our club immensely to continue the great work we do. It has been a great reminder for what I already knew that Zontians are resilient. Although, I am very thankful to be back in person and seeing you all at our membership meetings I am also proud of the adaptation we had within our membership. We had major goals within the biennium including fundraising and number of impacted lives. Overall we have been able to not only virtually adapt our membership and come back to in person meetings but impact a significant number of people and I am excited for what we have done as a club and what we will do in the future. Thanks, Melanie |

Meet our new member, Cindy Ross! Welcome to our newest member, Cindy Ross. Cindy is an Advanced Project Test Engineer at Siemens PLM. She also has 2 children Emma, who is a sophomore at Miami University, and Brendan, who is a senior at Milford High School. |
She has two pets. Maggie is a 10 year old lab/Pointer mix and Tom is a 1.5 year old cat. Both are from the League for Animal Welfare where Cindy has volunteered for over 5 years. Besides volunteering and watching her son's Rocket League tournaments, Cindy has been spending her extra time recently learning to speak Spanish. Cindy is also a niece of our beloved member, Donna Seitz. When asked why she wanted to join Zonta, she said "I have always felt a responsibility to contribute to society. In college I became familiar with the slogan "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" and felt it stated what I had always felt. I have belonged to both Key Club in high school and Alpha Phi Omega in college which are both service organizations. A few years ago I was also looking for a way to connect with more professional women. I knew my Aunt Donna had been very involved in Zonta and that the organization could join my two goals of contributing to society and being able to make more of the connections I desired." |
