I hope everyone had a wonderful, spring break! I know I did! It was well deserved. I spent the break relaxing, spending time with my family, hanging with friends, enjoying crafting, and of course self-care. As we enter the last, LONG stretch, of the school year, before summer vacation, we welcomed new Team Members and partnerships. Stay positive and continue to love on yourself!

I am so excited for everything to come! Even more excited that Girls Who Dream is back to working with young ladies F2F. Let me tell you...virtual sessions had ups and downs! Regardless, I would not change it for the world. The virtual sessions allowed our team to think beyond working with young ladies F2F. We were still able to impact and reach young ladies in the middle of a pandemic. So, our mission was accomplished!

We have partnered with some new organizations and people and look forward to working with them throughout the year.

Until next month, be safe and take care!

Many of your young ladies have spent the last several months, adjusting to being back in school. Some may have entered middle school or high school, which are huge transitions for young ladies. As they continue to grow, continue to teach them about loving themselves (Self-love). Even if they have wonderful self-esteem, continue to pour into them! Teach them to pour positive affirmations into others and continue to love on themselves.

  • Have them speak positive affirmations.
  • Teach positive self-talk and self-love.
  • Encourage risk-taking!
  • Help them to reflect on their choices.
  • Celebrate diversity and uniqueness!
  • Encourage them to do what they LOVE!
  • Encourage them to try new things.
  • Remind them of their strengths. Let them know        it is ok to make mistakes/fail. Just don't give up!
  • Have open communication and let them know you are there if they need to talk. Or help them identify someone they can talk to.
  • Keep a journal.

Some members of our team and I sat down for an interview with Sonya Harris-Oguzar, owner of The Harris Oguzor Magazine.

The Harris-Oguzor Magazine was created for women, business owners, who want to make a difference in their lives and their community while making a difference, educating future generation lives.
