Hi Everyone! It has been a while since my last newsletter. I'm just coming up for fresh air from family issues and the busyness of the last part of the year. God is Good!! There are so many opportunities to be discouraged as we look at our communities, families and as I go overseas, but all-in-all we know God holds us all in the palm of his hand, Chron. 20:15, Isa 49:16. We believers sometimes take so much for granted because we are living in the developed world and have Jesus as Savior, sometimes even thinking of ourselves more than we ought, Rom 12:3. People are hurting and we need to 'lift up the hand that hangs down" Heb 12:15, exhort, edify and comfort. We may not admit it but that can be draining on the soul. In any event, God wants us to be at Rest and Peace no matter what is going on in the world. We are built and equipped for community and relationship, and must always be ready to give an account of the hope in us. 1 Peter 3:15 |

ABOVE, are pictures of our team helping to build a house. We carried rocks, bricks, sand, and cement up a hill to the site, and then make mortar. We helped to lay the foundation by mixing gravel, sand, and cement to make mortar then shoveling the mortar on the ground and spreading it out with a roller. Before we the foundation, we passed the roofing material to the worker on the roof to fit them in place. It started to rain, but we kept going. We were wet and hot moving around in the mud on the ground. Talk about teamwork! We felt very blessed though, knowing we were making a difference to the family getting this home. We saw God at work answering prayer for the family. |

The 2 pictures ABOVE are the finished product of the house that we started to build. We did the roof and foundation and the poles for the separation of interior rooms and another team did the sides and windows. Such a blessing for this family! The children were in an orphanage because she did not have a place for then to live. James 1:27 says, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction,” Praise God for donors and partners |

ABOVE: Jesus said, “ suffer the little children to come unto me”... Matt. 19:14 We went to an orphanage and entertain the kids with worship and games and the Word. This orphanage was well organized and the children looked happy. It's so great to see how orderly they were lining up to get on the bus to go to school. They were so eager to learn and interact with us. Most of them were true orphans and some were in the orphanage because their parents were unable to care for them. |

ABOVE: To reach the church, we trekked 7 miles up a mountain with a Guide, through dense brushes, walking in a single file on narrow paths, and with bugs everywhere. I was thoroughly exhausted at the end of the trek, but I was still able to help paint the inside and prepare the flower bouquets to decorate the church. Jesus was our strength as we encouraged ourselves in the Lord! |

ABOVE: These pictures depict the care given to Elephants when they are retired from work and/or need a vacation. It's important that they bond with their caregiver, therefore, we were dressed in the clothing they would recognize. To avoid diseases and to cool them down from the heat we used buckets to throw water on them as they stand in the river. Afterward, the keepers get them to sit in the water for us to scrub their bodies with a special soap and brush to bathe them. The bristles on their body are prickly and short so all kinds of bugs embed in them. Also, we helped to feed them and were amazed at the way and the amount of food they consume. The chart is the herb medicines they get when they have an illness, an example is a broken bone tree stalk given for circulation. |

EVANGELISM AT ITS BEST! “Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day; teach a man to fish, and he’ll eat for a lifetime.” Relative to God’s word, in MATT. 4:19, we might express this principle this way: “Teach a man what the Bible says, and he has knowledge for a day; teach a man to study the Bible, and he has knowledge for a lifetime.” It’s also “empowering” each listener to study the Scriptures for himself and to effectively interpret and use what he logically concludes using all the inspired writings (PSALM 139:17). Make a Pledge today, I'm counting on You! |
