Toddler Group

Susan Eady is starting a new ‘Parent and Toddler Group’ in the Parish Hall adjacent to the school. The group will meet once a week for the month of June. The aim is to build a community of parents in the area who may wish to enrol their children in the school in the future. The very successful Easter Egg Hunts have shown that there is a need in the area for a resource to cater for toddlers. If any families have appropriate toys at home that they no longer want, please give them to Susan or drop them into the school. Susan will need some helpers for the first few weeks, if anyone has two hours to spare and would be willing to assist, your help would be greatly appreciated. It is hoped that the ‘Parents and Toddler Group’ would be run by the parents in the group from September onwards, once the initial set up has been organised.

County Photos

The order date for school photographs has been extended until tomorrow, Tuesday 28th May. Orders can be made online or handed into the school by tomorrow morning.

School Lunches

The school lunches are proving very popular with the children. It will take a few weeks for them to taste all the meals and decide which meals they like best. The Department of Education has written to the school to clarify the following: 'In line with nutritional standards for school meals the children must only be allowed to select a processed meat (for example nuggets / goujons / pizzas) and a processed potato (wedges / potato cubes etc.) one day a week. This issue is actively being inspected through our inspection process.' Please monitor your child's meal choices each week to ensure they stick to these guidelines. Our usual healthy eating policy still applies to their small break lunch. Please send in some fruit or vegetables or a yoghurt for them to eat during their first break. The Lunch Bag does give parents the option of ordering food for their first break but these are not free. Please do not order unhealthy food for your child's first break, such as biscuits or muffins.
