the gemini-aquarius trine

Something that I haven't stopped thinking about is how significant Gemini-Aquarius contacts have been and will be. We don't typically emphasize trines because they aren't considered one of the more critical or important aspects– we leave that to the square, the opposition, and the conjunction. However, I am finding this trine to be one of the more enduring storylines of this decade. This is a story that began with the nodal ingress to Gemini-Sagittarius and there is much more to emerge in the coming years.

Here are what these two sectors represent for you based on your rising sign (keep these areas of life in mind as you read):

Aries risings: 3rd house (Gemini)/ 11th house (Aquarius)

Taurus risings: 2nd house (Gemini) /10th house (Aquarius)

Gemini risings: 1st house (Gemini) / 9th house (Aquarius)

Cancer risings: 12th house (Gemini) / 8th house (Aquarius)

Leo risings: 11th house (Gemini)/ 7th house (Aquarius)

Virgo risings: 10th house (Gemini)/ 6th house (Aquarius)

Libra risings: 9th house (Gemini) / 5th house (Aquarius)

Scorpio risings: 8th house (Gemini) / 4th house (Aquarius)

Sagittarius risings: 7th house (Gemini)/ 3rd house (Aquarius)

Capricorn risings: 6th house (Gemini) / 2nd house (Aquarius)

Aquarius risings: 5th house (Gemini) / 1st house (Aquarius)

Pisces risings: 4th house (Gemini) / 12th house (Aquarius)

1st house: self image, personality, autonomy, individuality, character development

2nd house: personal worth and value systems, esteem, property, hierarchies.

3rd house: communication, siblings and familiar peers, local environments, transportation, foundational learning.

4th house: home, foundation, family, ancestors, lineage, end of matters

5th house: innocence, childhood, children, creativity, the romance of life, gambling

6th house: work, physical health, service, reciprocity, pets, resentment, tasks

7th house: relationships and those that oppose you, contracts, relating

8th house: tax, debt, loans, shared resources, secrets, the cringe, loss/death/grief, and personal transformation

9th house: long term travel, philosophy and religion, foreign people, cultures, and ideals, guides (includes therapists, doctors, lawyers, those who give advice), publishing and advanced education.

10th house: the big life moves, parenthood/bosses/authorities, career concerns, public image and announcements.

11th house: supportive groups and communities, your plans and goals, interests and fan culture, networks.

12th house: solitude, the hidden, the revealed, far away lands, where you feel trapped/ limited, the spiritual refuge, surrender, mental/emotional health and services, rest.

What we've been through:

The North Node ingressed Gemini June 5th 2020 and Saturn had already ingressed Aquarius for a short preview at this point, though the nodal axis and the Saturn transit were far from aspecting, especially as Saturn would retrograde back into Capricorn for several more months. On December 20th 2020, both Jupiter and Saturn ingressed Aquarius together creating "The Great Conjunction" that occurs roughly every 20 years, setting the tone for our greater societal changes. This was (and is) a big deal as this was the conjunction that marked a change in element. Most of the conjunctions had been in Earth signs emphasizing a physically resourced society and in 2020 we switched to conjunctions in air signs pushing society toward the cerebral and technological realm until 2159 (omg is that a real year???), when the thread of air conjunctions will finally break with the aspect in Scorpio, a water sign.

So, while a lot of the hype around the conjunction has died down now 4 years later, this is all still relevant as f*ck. At the core of the Saturn-Jupiter conjunction is a marked beginning of a structural change in our cultural and global society and in Aquarius, this speaks to how we relate (and do not relate) to humanity. This is why Artificial Intelligence has been Such A Thing since this conjunction paired with Pluto's ingress to the same sign. All of the air signs deal with communication and relations but also the detachment or reattachment of those things. Each of the air sign's astrological symbols show us two lines that are trying to coexist with each other, a duplicity where one concept is at odds with the other. Aquarius might be a symbol of humanity and groups but also of total autonomy from a collective, Libra might be a symbol of the married but also of the divorcées, Gemini might represent the doppelgänger apparition, one who is a good doer friend and savior and one deemed troublemaker who wreaks havoc.

That gives us a lot of insight into the kind of complexity and duplicity we may be dealing with in the "age of air".

The North Node in Gemini and Saturn in Aquarius were closest in late August of 2021 (within 1º of each other) before the North Node left Gemini on December 22nd later that year. It's very likely that this time period (end of 2020- to end of 2021) was like clay in your hands, showing you the unshaped blob. There were likely opportunities to play with and just as many unknowns and errors we were all personally working out. This was, in my opinion, a foreshadow of what to watch out for, what may become critical or supportive, where we can invest our mental energy to set up the best version of our lives in the "new age" that is here and still unfolding.

Jupiter did leave Aquarius on December 29th 2021 but Saturn remained until early 2023. Meanwhile, the next major Gemini transit was our 7 month long Mars transit through Gemini (August 2022-March 2023). Mars met in a trine with Saturn at the end of November 2022, around the halfway point of the Mars transit preceding its retrograde period. Saturn left Aquarius March of 2023, but was swiftly replaced by Pluto's ingress to Aquarius at the end of March just days before Mars exited Gemini.

This was a *huge* development point where you may have found yourself mentally working out the events that already occurred in 2021-2022. It could have been a time of searching for answers, new information pushed forward due to some sort of crisis (whether literal or conceptual). Mars and the North Node are similar in that they are brash transits, both are akin to a chemical peel, where a lot of layers are taken off at once. While they can be incredibly productive and improve the function of our lives, they are also harsh and demanding. This is the space in which we've been existing in the Gemini sector over the last several years and it has directly supported and related to the Aquarius sector.

Saturn in Aquarius shrunk this house and likely felt like a domineering, controlling force in your life as it gained power in its domicile, but I don't feel that it was without purpose. In order for Pluto's evolutionary work to be effective we had to first experience the full extent of limitations and consequences, how else could we approach this area with the reverence necessary to truly participate in the next 20+ years of our lives? The house and planets that Aquarius governs in our personal charts will become the foundational springboards for the larger societal changes we will be affected by, the gateway to making the vastness of it all very personal.

Where does that leave us in the story of the trine now?

Pluto is still adjusting to Aquarius and will have one final stint through Capricorn (September 1st - November 19th 2024) before truly settling in for the next 20 years.

Jupiter ingressed Gemini May 25th 2024 and will not leave this sign until June 10th 2025. We also have *quite* the New Moon upon us on June 6th 2024 just after the Venus Starpoint and Mercury's ingress to Gemini. It's a sign pile up that will likely show us what this transit is really made of and again, is contributing to this big story. Another piece of this is the Jupiter-Saturn square that occurs this year on August 19th 2024. Since the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction (a beginning) was in Aquarius, this automatically ties the first hard aspect (the first major turning point in the story) between these two planets to whatever began and ended December 20th 2020. ALSO– this square perfects on the day of the Aquarius Full Moon, again tying this Gemini sector that Jupiter transits to our Saturn ruled Aquarius sector.

A bit farther into the future, Uranus ingresses Gemini July 8th 2025 staying until November 8th 2025 for our first glimpse of a 7 year transit. Uranus will fully settle into this sign April 27th 2026 and stays until 2033. During the Uranus in Gemini transit, the North Node will ingress Aquarius on August 19th 2026 and Uranus in Gemini will meet in a trine with the North Node in September of 2027 at 9º with Pluto not far behind at 5º Aquarius.

As you can see, there is a lot happening in these two signs and they seem to deeply compliment each other's objective and it's one I would pay attention to as it's one of the more helpful and abundant pieces of this "new era" as I've been referring to it. The thing is– these are the big boy planets. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Pluto, the Nodes– these are the points that make up the larger life experiences, the ones that take over slowly and often go by unnoticed in our daily lives but contribute to a legacy. That being said, there's not necessarily anything to physically do about it all, but observation may prove to be enlightening and amazing.

How to optimize the trine:

Gemini and Aquarius are about information. learning. mental strategy. For me personally, the initial Gemini-Aquarius transits in 2020-2023 were my re-introduction to the Human Design Experiment. I had first come across this system back in high school but didn't fully embrace it until these transits.

Even if Human Design is decidedly not your thing, this is the time to experiment with your personal energy. Learn and take in information that helps you consistently reach and maintain success or satisfaction or peace or surprise or delight or whatever feeling you'd like to feel all of the time because these feelings often start with a more internal, mental shift. Pluto in Aquarius will naturally bring out the darker sides of humanity (the inhumane), but it will also bring out the extreme opposite euphoric and fascinating side of Aquarian themes just as we saw the extremes of enjoying Capricornian business and luxury (I want it, I got it vibes) versus poverty and hardened hearts (total oppressive grinch shit). The air sign way is to benefit from things such as: communication, technology, friendship, experimentation, strategy, study, invention, the group project, transport, (etc.)

What air sign separation speaks of is dynamic ways of living and thinking. By that I mean: not assuming that what works for another person will work for you. Separating what you've been told or how you've been wired to think and essentially reconditioning yourself to what actually works for you. Most of the time we have all of this information inside of us already, but interacting with the world over these next few years may outline the instructions for how to tap into it or return to it. That's what I foresee for this Jupiter in Gemini transit especially in mobilizing to connect with the correct people and places to receive the information we need. The good news is that Jupiter isn't as "harsh" as the Nodes/ Mars, but it will push us out of our comfort zone which can feel overwhelming and in Gemini, overstimulating.

It's not quite time to get into Uranus in Gemini (one thing at a time pleaaasee) though we can expect this time period to be exhaustive in how technologically advanced we will become especially as it pertains to communication and transport. For simplicity's sake, we can focus on the present Jupiter transit. So, you know, don't forget to take brain breaks but overall this next year is a time of teaching and studying and adding onto a fresh slate now that we've gone through that "chemical peel" process that the Nodes and Mars retrograde in Gemini inflicted. Time to experiment on the bare layer.

I hope your mental barriers are stretched in the gentlest of ways <3

Till next time,

Katie
