RHFC Fishing Trip

5th, 6th & 7th June 2020

Charter Trip Outside

The Club is arranging a fishing charter for the first weekend in June.

The charter will be over 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) and weather permitting will fish outside Moreton on Saturday, possibly up to the Barwon Banks, Gneerings, Caloundra Wide, Deep Tempest etc.

Starting on Friday late afternoon/evening (after dinner) we will board the     'Carlo 2' down at the Queensland Cruising Yacht Club at Shorncliffe.

The boat will then head over to Moreton Island and we will anchor in a calm reach for the night. This night, fishing will be available, but it will also be a party atmosphere with a bit of drinking and some nibblies enjoyed by club members, dancing is optional.

Early next morning the skipper will travel out to our first fishing location. We will endeavour to catch as many fish as is possible on Saturday. Conditions controlling our location for Saturday night, but possibly back inside the Bay.

We will let Sunday morning take care of itself (fishing, swimming etc) and return to the Cruising Yacht Club around lunchtime.

While on board, Nibblies on Friday evening, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Saturday with a sumptuous breakfast to conclude on Sunday.

The 'Carlo 2' is 106ft (32m) long, 26ft (7.9m) wide.

It has a capacity of 24 guests (we need 20)

It is a very comfortable 2 year old boat.

The idea of this charter is that any club members that want to go, will be side by side fishing with the others. As well as the ability to party on, inside this amazing vessel.

The cost of the trip is $350 per person

At our last meeting it was decided that the club would contribute 50% ($175) of a financial club members cost.

Club members have until the first Tuesday in March, to advise their intention of coming. And until the end of March to pay their $175. Any club member that wants to bring their partner should also advise at this time. Partners will not receive the members discount.

If you wish to bring your partner, then based on a first in basis the boat has several double bed rooms.

Once all members and their partners have had the opportunity, we will then open the offer (at $350 per head) to friends and family.

For our charter the boat will be a BYO for all drinks, alcohol or soft drinks.

You should also bring your own fishing gear and tackle.

Due to the location, there will not be any dories used.

If you have any questions, please contact either

David White (chalky) or Paul Hunt.
