In 1988 (yes, that long ago!), I started my journey in the travel industry as a Foreign Exchange cashier at Thomas Cook - red bow tie and all! If you’d told me then that 36 years later, I’d have my own award-winning travel business, I’d never have believed it.

As I celebrate another year in this industry, I’ve been reflecting on the incredible journey it’s been. I feel so lucky to have travelled far and wide, and to have the privilege of helping others do the same.

Travel is my passion, and I’m grateful to be supported by a fantastic company that shares my values. Designer Travel provides me with opportunities to explore new destinations and gain knowledge that I can pass on to my wonderful clients.

A little over a year ago, I returned from an amazing trip to Atlantic Canada. So far, 2024 has taken me to Gozo and Malta, a multi-centre Thailand trip, and I will shortly be setting sail on a Diamond Top Sellers reward cruise to Belgium and Holland aboard Celebrity’s Apex.

I’m always eager to learn, so I make it a point to attend as many industry events as possible to connect with key suppliers and build relationships. Recent highlights include an Oceania Cruise ship visit, a fantastic Japan night, and joining Designer Travel’s Wedding Academy. Keep an eye out for me at local wedding fairs soon!

With so much going on, I’ve finally tackled my resolution to be more visible by creating my first monthly video round-up. As I get more comfortable, I hope to be less reliant on the autocue - but with so much ground to cover, I do need my notes! 😊

Recent events like the fires in Jasper and Greece, power cuts at Manchester Airport, and IT outages that caused travel chaos worldwide highlight the value of having a professional travel expert by your side.
