A sex therapist, breakups, COVID, and high holiday updates. |

Hello! So ... I just got over COVID. Luckily the symptoms were mild, I just hated being alone in my apartment for a week. And yes, if you've been following for a while, I did have a mild case in 2020. Today I have a lot of content! A cartoon about a breakup :( An interview with a love doctor — a bible scholar and sex therapist. He's Jew of the Week, and super interesting no matter your religion. Some more doodles of the performers at Tuesday's Chosen Comedy Festival Updates on the two big projects I'm working on — a Jewish/American calendar and card game
Enjoy! If you're new here, hi! I'm Danielle, a marketer, writer, and artist doodling about her life (@danielleindoodles) and Jewish things (@jewsindoodles). This newsletter, sent most Sundays, has new cartoons and updates on what I'm working on in both worlds. I love producing this newsletter and appreciate you following along! |

Stages of getting over a breakup |
|

I recently went through one of these, and I'm still feeling feelings, but I am OK. I went on a writer's retreat in the fall with author/artist Mari Andrew, and she said she only posts vulnerable cartoons after she's processed the event. I liked this advice and am taking it! Hopefully if you relate, this is helpful <3 |

Interview with a sex therapist and bible scholar |
|

I wanted to find a Jewish relationship expert because Thursday was the Jewish version of Valentine's Day, Tu B'Av (and I made a cute video about that here). So, luckily, I found Dr. Caleb Jacobson. We talked about everything from how religion — especially Judaism — talks about sex, modern dating, tips for being a good lover, and more! You can watch the whole video interview here or read more about him on the blog post here. |

Quick JOW/newsletter update: I think Jew of the Week is now going to be rolled into the Sunday newsletter and will be announced here on Sundays and on social media on Mondays. I was playing around with a Jewish newsletter for a bit on Fridays, but ... that's on hiatus. Too hard to keep up with during the week! |

Officially a comedy show partner |

Standup NY is producing "The Chosen Comedy Festival" on Tuesday on Coney Island. If you click that link you'll see my new Jews in Doodles logo at the bottom under partners! I drew many of the performers on the lineup. Below are a few that I completed recently! I'm going to the show with my family, we're excited! |

Jewish Game update and progress |
|
|
In case you missed it, I'm working on a fun card game in time for the High Holidays. Pick a card with a funny situation, decide if it's a mitzvah or a shanda (a sin/disgrace), then vote on who in the group would most likely do that. I hosted two events last week to test the game, which were super helpful (see more on that in this short video). Thanks to those of you who came! What do you think of this work-in-progress cover?! |

Yes, I'm also working on a Jewish American calendar with context and doodles, which will be available in print and as a download (with a black and white version, too). Below is the draft of the cover and September. Don't use it, because ... it's a draft ... I need to check all the dates again and edit the copy. I'll probably replace all the images on the cover with my own drawings :) What do you think? |

Thanks for reading! Have a great week and be well! Doodles, Danielle |
