January -Transition

Happy New Year- 2022

Did you set an intention or resolution early in January?  Is it time to revisit or possibly tweak it to be more realistic and meaningful? When you set that intention were you attempting to leap into a new reality or new you? Although transition and change are inevitable it does not make it easy to cope with. Some of us adapt to change easier than others and each transition can bring hardship. Transition has an aspect of letting go, of grief and loss.  2021 has been an arduous year for most and with limited reserves we continue to move forward.

Nature is always in transition from one state to another from darkness to light, frozen to thaw, and hibernation to growth. Nature can remind us of the cycle of death and rebirth.  January and February can be hard months for many with the cold dark days and the lack of things to look forward to. In Salt Lake the inversion and stagnant energy can be impactful which can add to the psychological burden. Noticing the change of seasons can be an invitation to see change as a gift, an opportunity to improve and enhance our lives.  Quantum physics reminds us of the impermanence of everything.  Matter is influenced by observation and is in constant change with focus and intention.

Roan’s death anniversary seems to loom through the holiday season, especially as we transition into January, another placeholder for time.  Grief impacts our perception of time, and the pandemic has altered time for many of us. Sometimes knowing things will change, that the suffering will evolve can be enough to provide some ease or some capacity to tolerate the transition.  Notice how each January is different, how you are different?  Noticing how the places of discomfort shift and change. Transition can be a perfect catalyst to check in with yourself.  Allow yourself to move away from obligation to conscious choice. An intention for the new year is to foster deeper connection with those things of value; nature, people that we care about, and a deeper connection to ourselves.  More being and less doing. What is your intention for the new year?  What do you want more of? How do you become your most authentic self?

Dive in deep and find out.

The end is where we start from"
