September 2020 - Newsletter #13

FDDR more then a bag of food!

-------------------

To our online family, friends, viewers, and supporters welcome to the FDDR newsletter #13.

In this newsletter, we aim to bring you some news and tips on how you can help our extended family on the streets and show the world that great things happen when we come together.

Thank you very much to all that helped and/or donated. The lives from many get changed for the better thanks to your help and we can not do it without your continuous support.

-------------------

Hard time are upon all of us, several prominent U.S. companies are reporting a new wave of layoffs, as businesses reassess their staffing needs and brace for years of pandemic-related disruption, thousands of furloughed workers are told they won’t be coming back.

We at FDDR see the economic hardship growing everyday and the end is not in sight yet,

While small businesses are hurting, the number of unemployed Americans and food insecure families soar and this trend will go on much longer than we expected in the beginning.

The pandemic numbers are still going up and every day we see more and more hungry people on the streets in need of a meal and help. We serve between 170-190 meals (lately even higher) a day and we run out of food to hand out almost EVERY DAY. That is why we need your donations, support and active help more then ever.

Since the start of FDDR we handed out more than 76,000 meals to the ones in need!

We started out with an average of 40 to 60 meals a day and nowadays our average is up to 170-190 meals (lately even higher) a day and rising.

Please if you can help in any way now is the time to come together and step up, remember everything FDDR does is by volunteers like you and and from your donations.

100% of your donations goes towards the ones in need! Nobody at FDDR gets paid!

If you live close and are able to make an add-on meal any day please let us know (FDDR2day@gmail.com) and we can arrange to get your meal to those that need it. Any number will do 10, 20 or more!

You can make whatever meal that works for you like 2 sandwiches, mac & cheese, sloppy Joes, hot dogs, pasta dinner spaghetti/ mostaciolli, etc. We can help you with packaging or ingredients from our small pantry if needed.

If you are not able to prepare a meal consider sponsoring meals make a monetary donation via check, gift-card, Cash.me/HelpFDDR or www.venmo.com/Help-FDDR to sponsor a meal or operating costs or use any Credit/Debit-card at www.FDDR.org or www.paypal.me/HelpFDDR

Choose and order much-needed items from our ALL NEW Wish list for much needed items.

We had a few viewers ask if it is possible to donate $1 or $5 to FDDR, YES you can we just prefer you send a smaller cash donation via Cash-App, Venmo, the donate button on Facebook or even in regular mail, that way we get not charged a fee by the bank on the donation.

Moderator Corner

Welcome to the POD from the MOD!

Here we will discuss all things having to do with the FDDR video feed.  We encourage you to submit any questions you may have.

Hello FDDR family.

Today's Pod from the Mods will have you  scrambling on a scavenger hunt to see just how well you know the FDDR.ORG website.

The rules are simple. Simply answer the questions by searching the FDDR.ORG website.

Make sure you provide the actual steps you used to find your answer.

Hold on to your answers because the answer will be in the next newsletter.

1. What famous dish is named after and prepared by Mat? Where can you find the recipe?

2. Where can you find a list of FDDR'S 2020 goals?

3. How many forms of payment does FDDR accept? (make sure to name each one)

4. Who are the board members and what titles do they hold?

5 Someone on the feed would like to purchase some hygiene kits but does not know

how to. How would you direct them to the hygiene kits?

6. A viewer would like to know how many meals has FDDR provided. Where can you find

   this information?

7. Where can you find information about the moderators?

8. You have a great recipe that you think FDDR might be interested in.

Where would you post this information?

9. In the Now did a wonderful video about FDDR. Where would you find it?

10. A viewer has decided that they would like to volunteer but does not know where to go.

      How would you assist them?

Have fun everyone,

Dexter aka Rhittney
