The new software release allows test flexibility and port independence in both the new module (2 QSFP-DD) and the original (QSFP-DD and OSFP). That means that a user can run a different test on each port, start and stop them at different times, and neither port is affected by what’s happening on the other. The VIAVI OneAdvisor 800 Transport can do “any test, any port, any time.” That flexibility saves time by allowing a user to test both directions of a circuit at the same time, for example, instead of testing in one direction, waiting, reversing it and running it again. The new capabilities cut the test time in half. This flexibility is also valuable in environments where many different types of circuits are terminated, like a central office, head end, data center, or even a lab.
This new release also added 100GE KP4 100GAUI-2, a 100 GE 2-lane electrical interface, which, along with CAUI-4, allows the OneAdvisor 800 to connect to legacy Ethernet switches as well as new systems.
