Inclusion in Leadership Virtual Forum March 11, 2023Registration closes at 11:59 p.m., March 8 MASC is excited to announce the 2023 Inclusion Leadership Forum, inviting ALL students to join us from 9:40 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11th to celebrate leadership, progress, and inclusivity and help make a difference in the future. This year’s theme is “Gender Inclusivity & Intersectionality.” We will participate in advocacy activities and roundtable discussions with students across the state. We will also hear from a live panel of esteemed individuals in leadership who will answer your questions and impart valuable wisdom. Maryland Youth Advisory CouncilApplications March 1 - June 30 The Maryland Youth Advisory Council was established through the State legislature in order to ensure that Maryland youth are given the opportunity to provide feedback and recommendations regarding public policies and programs that affect their future and to take a leadership role in creating meaningful change. MASC is able to appoint two students to serve a two-year term. Two students appointed last year are serving their second year in 2023-2024. Be sure to check "MASC" on how you heard about this in order to be considered for an appointment by MASC! | | |

Civic Learning Week (March 6-10) – Help make civic learning a national priority for a stronger democracy. League of Women Voters - Maryland Youth Voter Summit: Students Empowering Democracy! NA4SA Webinar: CAMP CONVERSATIONS | 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2023 Social Media for Social Justice: SMSJ is an online workshop series created with students to empower them to use social media to combat disinformation about the causes that are important to students! You’ll hear from leadership experts and students like yourself and meet other students in the breakout groups. There is no cost to participate. MyImpact Challenge - MyImpact Challenge is a civic engagement contest hosted by the Bill of Rights Institute. Student service projects can win up to $10,000, with $40,000 in total prizes available to students and teachers. Deadline: May 21st Invent2Prevent - is a High School student-led, peer-developed initiative to prevent targeted school violence! Sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Center for Prevention Program and partnerships (CPS), high school students create and activate their own peer-developed initiatives, products, and tools to prevent targeted violence and help create safe schools and communities.
Distinguished Student Leaders: High School Students - A rigorous and challenging skill- and knowledge-based recognition program created to identify outstanding individual student council leaders in high schools. NA4SA Resources: The National Association for Student Activities (NA4SA) is a GREAT advisor-focused organization offering free webinars, free resources, and conferences. Character Strong: Are you on the email list to get free materials from Character Strong? They offer great materials, webinars, curriculum, and quick "Character Strong Weekly" short activities. Check it out. Covid Test Kits: You can still get some free test kits from the government - also, health insurance companies offer free test kits each month. |
