Ukrainian Egg Painting Workshop Over the last month, we have had many new Ukrainian clients. In order to help them build a community amongst themselves and feel welcomed in the office, WoW hosted an egg painting workshop. Ukrainians, along with other Eastern European countries have been painting eggs for thousands of years. Known as pysanky (which is taken from the word in Ukrainian meaning "to write"), Ukrainian eggs are decorated and designed using wax. For many families, creating pysanky is an important cultural ritual that brings them together. Thank you to our wonderful volunteer and to our Workshop manager that put in a lot of work to make this happen. If you have an idea for a potential workshop for our clients, please email ghinwa@womenofworld.org |

Elevation Women in Utah Conference |
On August 25th, Samira had the chance to represent Women of the World at the Elevation Women in Utah conference, which included a conversation with Governor Cox and Patricia Jones, a former Utah State Senator. Utah needs more female leaders in communities, businesses, and on Capitol Hill. The Women's Leadership Institute and the State of Utah are working on improving these pipelines and we are honored and excited to be a part of these vital conversations. |

This month, WoW has also been actively working on improving our Employer Partnership Program (EPP). EPP is a hiring partnership between Women of the World and employers to assist forcibly displaced women with an efficient pathway to safe, secure and high-paying jobs with benefits and opportunities for upward mobility. The EPP builds on our mission to empower women from all nations to achieve economic success. Employment is one of the biggest steps towards self-reliance. However, there are many challenging aspects for our clients as they seek employment - language barriers, cultural differences, and technological hurdle. Through the EPP, we assist everyone through the entire hiring process, free of charge for both parties, making it more efficient and effective for both our ladies and for employers. We also started holding a "Walk-in Employment" coaching hour at WoW where you can come in for job questions without an appointment. If you have any questions about job searching or want to be an employer partner, please email our EPP manager, roxie@womenofworld.org |
