Our Place Campus Updates

One month closer to reality. We started conversations in 2018 about creating a mini farm to give the homeless women and families an opportunity to be active and learn basic gardening skills. We feel even physical activities is beneficial for the soul. Numerous studies have confirmed this. Click the button below to read one of them.

Here is what is on the current schedule over the next two months:

  • Installation of a fence around the 2.6-acre property
  • Grading and overall preparation of the site
  • Building infrastructure for electrical and irrigation
  • Building garden beds
  • Building tool sheds
  • Adding garden soil

To Our Volunteers

Many of you have graciously offered to volunteer with this project. We anticipate volunteer opportunities to begin by mid-March, when the fence is installed and infrastructure is done.

Barring any unusual occurrences, we plan on the beginning of April to have seeds and vegetable starts in the ground.

Finally, we continue to pursue funding for this project. Through your donations, we are able to move forward with the above. We will begin reaching out to those that have offered their volunteer services when the opportunities arise. Thank you for your continued support for this much needed community project.
