You'll hear from Tom Duffey, DPT, who provides insightful answers to commonly asked questions about trigger point dry needling. We've included a research article summary compiled by Caroline Schlais, DPT with a short video highlighting a number of her favorite evidence-based hip strengthening exercises. Also, dates and times are posted for Base Camp Move, our small group balance training program. Spring and fall classes are available. Lastly, the team at VMPT greatly appreciates all of the support you've given us over the last year. Your stories of overcoming are truly inspiring. Congrats - Class of 2021!

Sophia Gurrieri is a graduating senior from Evergreen High School in the class of 2021. She is a swimmer at EHS and has been a part of three state championship teams. She also swims with the Hurricanes.

During quarantine, I had to exercise on my own since the pool and recreation center were shut down. When I started back, we were not able to do our dryland and as a result I started to feel some pain in my left shoulder. The exercise and treatment at Vertical Motion PT have helped my shoulder to feel better and stronger than ever.

Sophia will be continuing her swimming career in college at Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska.

Strong Hips, Smart Thinking

In this research review, Caroline Schlais, DPT reviews an article that focuses on strengthening the muscles on the side of the hip. If you are having low back, knee, hip or ankle pain, one of the causes may be a lack of gluteus medius or minimus strength. This brief video includes a demonstration of the exercises studied with tips on proper technique!
