Happy Easter everyone! This weekend has been all about sunshine, spring vibes, and of course, the most amazing Easter baskets! We wanted to give a huge shout out to the incredible women who put baskets together for our kids. They didn't just fill them with sweets (though those won't last long!), you filled them with love, creativity, and pure Easter magic. Seeing the excitement on our kids' faces when they discovered all the goodies was priceless, and it wouldn't have happened without them! Sending a big, heartfelt thank you for making this Easter extra special. |

Exciting news! Our new dorm floor installation is underway! While the floors are getting an upgrade, we noticed a few spots on the walls that could use some TLC. To keep our dorm rooms looking their best, we're looking for someone with some drywall patching experience who might be interested in lending a hand for free. We'll happily provide all the materials needed! If you (or someone you know) fits the bill and enjoys a good DIY project, please reach out to us below. We'd really appreciate the help! |

Bicycle Station Fundraiser |
|
|
We are thrilled to introduce "Joy Ride", a collaboration between The Bicycle Station and Open Door. The goal of Joy Ride is to raise funds for Specialized Rockhopper bicycles to be donated to our shelter for our youth to use during the coming warm months. We love any opportunity to get our kids active and more involved within our community in a positive and healthy way. This is the perfect opportunity for staff to have one-on-one time with our kids on bikes at places like the Ohio River Greenway or Sam Peden Community Park. Consider donating today! |

The residential program at Open Door is designed for children who struggle with various challenges like oppositional behaviors, attachment issues, anxiety, and depression. It's particularly helpful for kids who are transitioning from secure placements or have a history of moving between different living arrangements. This program is also suitable for children who need a lot of support with managing their emotions and behavior. At Open Door, the focus is on helping these children make better choices and feel more in control of their lives. The staff provides guidance and teaches important social and emotional skills through practical activities. They work with children who have serious emotional and behavioral issues and need a safe and structured environment to heal and learn. The goal is to prepare them to eventually thrive in a more typical home setting. |
