Two Public Hearings for WP Church of Christ rezoning from residential to Planned Development.

Summary: The next step in rezoning the Willow Park Church of Christ will be a P&Z Meeting, Tuesday, 20 February, 2024, and then a Council Meeting, Tuesday, 27 February, 2024. The City will be considering and taking action on a new rezoning request for the Church, from Residential Zone to Planned Development Zone.

The beginning of February 2024, the EPA set tougher national soot standards; Fort Worth's Tarrant County made the list of "10 Texas counties had particulate matter levels that would exceed the new standard."

Summary: Wilks Development recently sold its remaining 44 acres of residential property to Clarity Homes, who now plans to build 80 homes in the second phase of The Reserves at Trinity; development will begin in early fall. Lot sizes will vary, and prices will range from the upper $400,000 range to the $600,000.

DFW retail real estate shatters four decade record. And it's coming our way. Hint: Costco in Weatherford.

Summary: "Experts say the retail real estate market is breaking occupancy records in the Dallas and Fort Worth area." "Retail markets are posting balances of supply and demand that outpace every other major commercial real estate category."

Summary: The City of Willow Park finally had a conversation with the residential neighbors of the Willow Park Church of Christ; Citizen were concerned about the Willow Park Church of Christ rezoning from residential to commercial; the City is proposing to use a Planned Development Zone to address most of the Citizens' concerns.

• Current: No final event but AT&T Stadium will still accommodate nine matches, including a semifinal — the most games of any host city. • Summary: Start planning now to be gone or to take advantage of the largest sporting event ever -- less than fifty (50) miles from Willow Park. “In just three and a half years, Fort Worth will welcome millions of soccer fans for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the largest sporting event in the world.

Texas set three records for power demand and supply, during last month's winter storm.

Summary: During last month's storm, Gov. Abbott bragged the ERCOT power grid performed flawlessly. However, a less political reality proved a bit less enthusiastic. Weather conditions were not as bad for as long as forecast. And ERCOT twice asked customers to conserve energy or else.
