New Housing ApplicationRedrow have applied for planning permission to build 560 new homes in Warburton. # This will have a significant impact on Village life and place considerable additional stress on local infrastructure and services. # Public consultation is open mow, for only 3 weeks, closing on Friday 18th October. # You can read more in the local and business press reports by clicking on the links below. # Have your say and provide your feedback during the consultation period, by clicking on the button below.

Road SafetyIn response to many residents' concerns regarding road safety and traffic speeds, the Parish Council commissioned an extensive traffic survey. Our aim was to gather data and expert recommendations in order to press Trafford BC to take action and review road safety in the village. # The findings were presented to Andrew Hague from Trafford BC at a Parish Council meeting. Although, frustratingly, it will not be possible to reduce any of the current speed limits or make any changes to traffic flows or junction layouts, Trafford BC have agreed to assist in painting speed warnings on the road at locations to be agreed. # To access the full report, click the button below.

Following much feedback from the village residents, progress on the design and installation of new village gateways signs is progressing well. # In response to the results of the Traffic Survey and the Trafford BC response to that, the Parish Council are proposing to adapt the village signs to also include a speed warning. # These new signs will be placed in prominent positions on the key entry points to the village to demarcate the village boundary as well as encouraging careful driving. # We are awaiting approval from Trafford BC on the proposed locations. # For more detail on our current proposals, click the button below.

Parish Rooms We are delighted to report that the Parish rooms renovation project is almost complete. # A significant sum was provided to fund new electrics and fire alarms, insulate the kitchen roof, renovate the toilet facilities including installing a disabled toilet, general decoration and installing lights outside the building. # The building is looking fantastic and will be available soon for community events. |

CCTVWe have received a request to suggest locations around the village for periodic CCTV surveillance. # Covert cameras have been used to great effect by Trafford BC in the fight against fly tipping and can help eradicate other anti-social and criminal behaviour. # If you would like to propose a location, email info@warburtonparishcouncil.org |

Hedge CuttingIn recent years it has become more and more clear that some highways and especially footways in Warburton are obstructed by overhanging vegetation. In combination with the widely-perceived increases in traffic speed and numbers on several Warburton roads, this creates considerably increased risks to life. # Residents are politely reminded that they have a responsibility for their hedges and trees, in particular where these front the public highway. |
Pavement ClearanceWe are advised by Trafford BC, that verges will be cleared and pavements swept by the end of Oct 2024. # In the event that the village pavements remain unusable after this work is undertaken, The Parish Council is obtaining quotes for private contractors to assist in clearing the footways. The main focus currently is the Dunham Road from the bridge at Barns lane to the junction with Paddock Lane. # If any residents have particular concerns regarding specific footways, please email info@warburtonparishcouncil.org |
