Blessing and Building

June 2023 Newsletter

New temporary church structure in Chigwirizano, Malawi.

Proverbs 11:11 NCV “Good people bless and build up their city, but the wicked can destroy it with their words.”

The latest story, the latest crisis, and the latest buzzword are all too often filled with criticism and negativity. It is impossible to miss the negativity that blasts through our society today. As hard as we may try, we cannot escape today’s harsh and angry atmosphere.

While it might seem everyone is this way, we don’t have to be. As believers, we are salt and light (see Matt. 5:13-16) in a tasteless and dark place. We have what everyone else needs. Instead of speaking words of destruction, let’s find ways to bless and build our homes and nations. If we want to see our world change, we are the ones to lead the way in that change.

Blessing and Building in Malawi

There are so many great things to report from Malawi. Our schools are slowly expanding (we currently have 3 schools in operation in Malawi) in the past month, we have seen another classroom slowly come up at the main school campus in Lilongwe.

Construction of a new classroom at our main school campus in Lilongwe has begun.

Not only have we seen our schools blessed and buildings go up, but we’ve also seen one of our local churches that we helped in an area called “Chigwirizano” by purchasing land for them put up their own temporary structure.

These may seem like small beginnings - but great things have small beginnings.

Upcoming

June/July – We leave at the end of June for Burundi where we will host our Church Leaders’ seminar and second module of our Leadership Academy. We’ll also spend time at our Hope Center and work toward opening New Hope Academy in September.

October – Preparations for the free community clinic in Malawi with Hand of Hope in October are going well. We’ve secured the facility and are working on all of the paperwork required to complete this job.

December – We will be Stateside for part of December 2023 and January 2024. Our schedule is coming together well, we only have a couple of open days available. This is always a good thing! Please email us (see below) if you would like to know what dates we have open.

Thank you all for your prayers and support for us personally as well as the work in Africa.

We are so grateful,

Jamie, Lea, and Andreya
