MAY News!

Hello Friends!

The flowers and trees are blooming! That’s one of the reasons I love spring so much–it’s a time of rebirth. So many things in my personal life are changing too–blossoming, if you will. I keep pinching myself to make sure it’s real.

Early reviews are coming in on Goodreads, and I've received blurbs from some of the authors I admire & KIRKUS (they liked it!). I'm thrilled people seem to be enjoying my "Fab Five" story. Check out what some of them have to say:

I have a favor to ask of you, my loyal friends. When you do get a chance to read my book and if it resonates with you in some way, I'd love for you to leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads (and BookBub if you can, too). It doesn't have to be long, just a few words, and give it the number of stars you believe it deserves. That simple act helps authors more than you realize. Thank you to my early readers who have already left reviews. I am so grateful.

Also, I’d love for you to send me a photograph of you holding All That is Sacred, so I can put together a reel. Please, share it on social media and tag me!

I was lucky enough to be chosen as a featured guest on the podcast Best of Women’s Fiction: Exciting 2023 Debuts! episode, with hosts Lainey Cameron and Ashley Hasty. It was so much fun talking with these women about my debut and meeting other amazing debut authors. I hope you will check out the broadcast and subscribe at www.bestofwomensfiction.com

I’m still running my autographed copies giveaway, exclusive to my subscribers. Thanks to those who have already asked your friends to subscribe; it’s not too late to invite others. Simply send them to my website: www.donnanormancarbone.com . I’ll be choosing three winners (two of my tried-and-true subscribers and one from anyone who subscribes from April 1- May 31st). Who knows what fun book merch they’ll receive! Winners will be announced in my June newsletter.

And last, but certainly not least…I’ve been hinting at it for a while. I’ve received a proof of my book trailer, created by Erica Lucke Dean, a member of the Red Adept team whom I have been most appreciative of throughout this process. I’d like to share it with you before revealing the final copy to the public. I hope you enjoy!

Oh wait! One more thing! I have a surprise coming… news that I’ve been sitting on for a couple of months now. I can’t wait to share it with you and I will, but it’s going to have to wait until June. I’ll leave you with a clue.

Friends, thank you so much for taking this journey with me. I feel your support and enthusiasm and I’m most grateful. In the next newsletter, I will share my event schedule which I am already building. Exciting things to come for sure. One more month to go!

Until next time…

7 Things I Learned through this Journey

  1. How to market a book

  2. The ins & outs of social media (yes, I am freaking on Tik Tok!)

  3. Finding confidence in appearing visually online

  4. How to network with other bookish people

  5. Seizing opportunities for other side gigs

  6. Time management (working the job of being an author into my schedule)

  7. It takes a village & I’m grateful for mine
