Believe it or not, but I'm feeling inspired on this dreary, rainy day in Kimberley. I've been energised by the artworks arriving in the gallery in the last few days as part of the 2024 Open, Adjudicated Art Exhibition celebrating visual arts and The Kootenays, and more specifically, "Kootenay Creatures". Good thing you signed up for this newsletter, because it means you'll be one of the first to know what artworks were selected for display in the exhibition space!
There are only three days left for our give-away of Ray Swirsky's small digital reproduction of "Easter Chair Closes at 3:20 pm". We'll put your name in the hat for every purchase of one of Ray's digital reproductions. If you were thinking of buying one, NOW IS THE TIME!
Something else to get excited about is the events coming up at the gallery in February: the opening reception of the upcoming exhibition, a fun Flannelfest collab between Centre 64 Ceramics and Grow, and a visit from Michele Doucette on the Family Day long weekend, which means a chance to get creative with paint for everyone and a peak a the coolest Porsche hood you'll ever see.
If that's not enough excitement for you, how about this: Erin and I are working on a significant expansion of our cool little collab in the gift shop which will involve A LOT MORE BOOKS from Huckleberry Books (available in Kimberley). Yay!
Stay warm and dry, and please remember to do your daily snow dance.
