A Message From Owner, Shawn Weed

Dear Friends,

The last several months have been a trying time for us all in a myriad of ways. Please know that our team’s thoughts have been with you and whatever you may have been experiencing during this time. 

 

At the best of times, the restaurant industry is incredibly challenging and often only marginally profitable. Those of us who build careers in it do so because we love it. The restaurant industry is a culture rooted in gathering and breaking bread. The act of dining is a sacred celebration of farming, cooking, service, teamwork, and togetherness. For us, the closures meant we could no longer provide you with what we passionately believe to be a fundamentally human and joyful experience. 

 

Like many restaurants, we did our best to adapt to meet our customers’ needs while keeping our employees working. We are forever grateful to our customers who patronized The Acre through delivery and curbside pickup during the last several months. I, my family, our staff, and their families could not be more grateful for your patronage. We are also deeply indebted to those team members who chose to continue working during the dining closure to ensure our customers could enjoy delivery and curbside pick-up. It is because of them, and all of you, that we have a restaurant to re-open. Sadly, some of Albuquerque’s favorite restaurants have closed their doors forever. We may say goodbye to still more in the coming months. For now, we are officially open and optimistic. 

 

What you can expect at The Acre this summer:

 

  • New Design: We used the closure to redesign the The Acre’s interior. The result is a more casual and approachable dining room that includes a bar that doubles as a Chef’s Table. Our culinary team is planning a series of intimate Chef’s Table dinners in the coming months.
  • Seating: We are currently seating guests at 50% capacity at a minimum of 6 feet apart as mandated by the state. Please wait to be seated upon arrival.
  • Outdoor Seating: Enjoy the sunshine at a small number of tables and chairs outside our front door. Please note that we cannot serve alcohol at those tables.
  • Kudos: We won an award... a BIG one that we are thrilled to announce on Thursday, June 25, 2020. It is a reflection of changes we are making and will influence much of what you’ll see from us in the coming months.
  • Hours of Operation: We will maintain our current schedule of 11am to 8pm, seven days per week.
  • Sanitation: We will be conducting sanitation practices after each guest visit and in all areas throughout the day.
  • Staffing: We have been busy re-hiring, hiring, re-training, and training our staff to adhere to the state’s safety and sanitation guidelines. Staff are required to stay home if exhibiting any symptoms. Please bear with us if we are understaffed during this transitional period.
  • Masks: Our staff are wearing face masks and, as appropriate, gloves. We may look different, but don’t be alarmed. We are smiling underneath those masks.
  • Menus: We will be operating off a single menu for brunch, lunch, and dinner. All our menus will be disposable except for our wine menu which is washable.
  • Delivery and Carry-out: We will continue providing curbside pickup and family meals for the foreseeable future. Delivery is now available through both Postmates and Grubhub. 

 

To help keep our team and your fellow guests healthy, we ask that you:

 

  • Adhere to current state mandated guidelines and wear a face mask as you enter and exit the restaurant. We anticipate its removal while you dine at your table.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with your arm as a courtesy to those around you.
  • Please utilize delivery or curbside pick-up services if you are feeling unwell.
