Virtual Make-It Springfield Is Starting Up!

STAY CONNECTED

To the Springfield community and beyond, we hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe. When Make-It Springfield began (almost 4 years ago) we set out to build a welcoming space where people could come together to “make, create and connect”. As we respond to COVID-19, these goals are more important than ever...and we miss you!

WHAT ARE WE DOING TO STAY SAFE?

In order to support efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19, Make-It Springfield has paused all “in-person” programming. We will reopen when we get the “all clear” from Governor Baker. If you are a current member, please keep and eye out for separate communication from Make-It staff.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED?
This new normal is helping us think about new opportunities. Similar to how you can apply to host an in-person workshop, we now encourage you to apply to host a virtual class, meetup or event. Tell us what you have in mind and a staff member will get back to you asap. Don't be shy!

PROPOSE A VIRTUAL WORKSHOP

We are thrilled to partner with FocusSpringfieldTV to bring this smartphone video training to our creative community.

Thank you to Brendon Holland (who is usually behind the scenes) for creating this 4 minute tutorial on the basics of setting up and recording video tutorials!

In addition, Make-It is working on a range of ways to stay connected virtually. We are sharing information, community needs, and family activities on social media. Expect things to evolve as we plan additional ways to stay connected to you. If you have specific ideas for how we might do that, please reach out to Marla@makeitspringfield.org

HOW YOU CAN HELP?

DONATE SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT or DOLLARS

1) Our seamstress member, Elizabeth Daniels, is working hard to produce masks. Please consider making a donation to contribute to the cost of supplies.

2) Make-It Springfield also accepts donated materials and equipment. Please email makeitspringfield@gmail.com and let us know how you can help.

3) Donate money: help keep us going so we can continue our efforts to bring people together!

+ + + + + + +

Your well-being is very important to us. Please take this time to explore your creativity and skills at home, so you can come back to Make-It ready to CREATE, MAKE and CONNECT! We know the times are stressful and challenging. We are here to stay -- now and into the future.

We will Make-It through this …together!
