Students, staff, and adult participants enjoyed welcoming the new season with a lively Fall Fest celebration on September 27. The day was filled with games, fun, and food, including burgers grilled by our Social Services Department, fresh popcorn by the HR Department, Hay Bale Rice Krispie treats made by the Psychology Department, and a Poke a Pumpkin game hosted by the Finance Department. We couldn’t have done it without the incredible help of volunteers from All Saints Lutheran Church, whose support made the event even more special. |

In the early stages of planning the Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy School, Mr. Kennedy's generous gift was key to making the vision a reality. However, as Sr. Inez recalls in her diary, it wasn't without thoughtful negotiation. Mother had a critical role in guiding the project’s pace, ensuring the necessary resources would be available to sustain it. Here is an excerpt from Sr. Inez's diary from October 1951, highlighting the moment when the project’s future took shape: "During these months, a memoranda had been drawn up and presented to his Eminence which he in turn presented to Mr. Kennedy explaining how his gift would be utilized during the next few years. It was Mr. Kennedy’s hope and wish that the buildings could all be erected at once, but Mother played her trump card by stating that sisters would not be available to fill the demand. Progress at a slower pace would be in order. Mr. Kennedy saw the wisdom of this, and shortly after the deal was closed." Stay tuned for the final part of the story next month! |
