We are days away from our Pearls of Wisdom Evening for Education! Our goal is to provide $20,000 for each scholarship this year and we are on track to do that! President's Message

LYNNE WARNE

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

One of the daily devotions I subscribe to is Rick Warren, the man who founded Saddleback Church in California. He often talks about money, in that it’s not really yours. Everything we have is a gift from God. He says when it comes to giving, God is much more interested in what’s in your heart than what’s in your wallet. What God really wants is your willingness—not your wealth.

Member Spotlight

KIMBERLY CROSS TETER

Author and Educator | www.kimteter.com

NCBWL is blessed with so many fascinating women members, each one brings amazing gifts and talents.

Our Member Spotlight feature for the month of September is a gifted author whose curious mind and love for travel and history provided the inspiration for her debut novel Isabella's Libretto. This historical fiction is about the life of a spirited, ambitious orphan who plays cello in Antonio Vivaldi's remarkable all-female orchestra in Venice, Italy, in 1715. How interesting! And who knew Vivaldi was a Catholic priest! There's more to learn about Kim Teter. Visit this month's Member Spotlight.

August Meeting Highlights

Summer Series Part 3: Sisters with a Story to Tell

What a great finish to an exciting season! Our 3-part Summer Series concluded August 17 with the presence of Mother Anna Grace Neenan, O.P., Prioress General of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia, and a former professional ballerina.

For the past three months, we have heard from three wonderful sisters who shared their beautiful life stories before answering the call to serve the Lord! Our gratitude to our member Lynda Evjen, President of Women in Film & Television, for letting us use the WIFT facilities for our Summer meetings.

Thank you to those who attended our August Meeting and supported our Outreach beneficiary Meals 4 Health and Healing Program in support of The Heimerdinger Foundation. Please visit their website if you'd like to support.
