FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER 

 Training has officially started for 2022.  We are training Thursdays.  The next 2 Thursdays will be at Brothers Cricket Club starting at 5.45. Get yourself along and don't for get some water and your whistl!

FUNDRAISING

Our first fundraising activity for 2022 will be a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on 20th February at North Shore Bunnings.

 

We will be seeking volunteers to help man the stall, so if any one is able to volunteer an hour or 2 or 3, please let Katrina has put up a post on Facebook regarding this so let her know via this post if you can help out.

 

These fund raisers are great to help top up our coffers which in turn help support the umpires!

 MEMBERSHIP FOR 2022

 

Please consider becoming a membership of our association as it helps us to help you and our group.  We would encourage all who are umpiring to join up.  The benefits of being a member can be found here. 

 

Membership forms and fees can be found here.  Juniors we do need a parental consent, so you will need the printed form with a parents signature to be submitted.

Round 6 the FairPlay vouchers program is NOW OPEN for applications.

The program aims to increase regular participation in sport for eligible children and young people. Parents, caregivers and guardians can now apply for a voucher valued up to $150 for their child or young person. Vouchers can be put towards sport and active recreation membership, registration or participation fees with registered activity providers. You do need to be elligible.

Key dates for Round 6: 

  • Round 6 now open
  • 23 March 2022: Round 6 applications close (or earlier if fully allocated)
  • 11 May 2022: Vouchers expire and must have been presented to an activity provider. AFLTUA is an activity provider and the voucher can be presented to us for payment of membership fees

FROM THE COMMITTEE/RUM

 

  • If you intend to umpire this year make sure you have registered in OfficialsHQ
  • The committee is currently under way with a review of our MOU and negotiating with AFLQ
  • Looking into grants for lighting
  • If you need uniform please submit your order so it can arrive for season start.  This year the latest AFLQ uniform is required - any questions please contact Mal our RUM
  • Ben Milne has joined the committee as a general committee member - welcome aboard!
  • We are still looking for a Sponsorship Coordinator to join the committee.  If think you would be good at this and would like to volunteer, let us know!  We will show you the ropes.
