My sewing station

Hello all you wonderful subscribers and welcome to my October newsletter. I came back from the lovely trip to Wales having packed all my sewing gear, and proceeded to unpack it back into my sewing area. As someone whose eyes light up with a new tool / unit / system for organisation, I was troubled by my random arrangement of stuff in the sideboard I use for storage. Cue the infinity pool of Pinterest research of other people's pegboards - it was time for me to dive in.

Click on the photo below to read my blog post explaining what I used and lots of photos of how I rearranged my sewing station. It is such a joy to use and has plenty of space for me to grow into.

Advent calendar

As soon as it was announced, I knew I had to have it. I'm talking about the Kylie and The Machine Advent Calendar which I bought from Like Sew Amazing, a local Bristol store (I love the name of this shop!). It contains 66 labels (3 x 22 new label designs) and 2 new iron on patch designs. It certainly isn't because I need more labels as after this I'll have enough for 8 lifetimes of garments at the rate I sew. However this will give me a little treat every day and remind me to keep setting aside time for this hobby as it gives me so much joy.

I have decided to open the first door next week in the run up to my birthday, where I will return to that beautiful place in Wales with my sewing kit once again, and with a few new labels packed :)

Work in progress

I'm just finishing up a toile for the raglan sleeve Frankie T-shirt but changing it up a little to make it a bit smarter with more fitted sleeves. I'm using John Kaldor black jersey for the main body and stretch lace for the sleeves. I'll be sharing all the details as usual including fitting adjustments next month šŸ˜Š
