Return to Hockey Update

Following Thursday's successful trial of the methods to keep our members safe and well, we have the following update to clear up some issues that have arisen.

The Return to Hockey sessions are separate from from the Junior training that has started and the Performance Section's Pre-Season Training. Both of these events will be at Weetwood at the same time as the Return to Hockey sessions.

This is another long email but we have a lot of information to get out to you all.

Firstly, we invite everybody to watch the below briefing by Phil, Price, the LHC COVID Officer:

Players Information and Agreement:

As outlined in our last email all players wishing to play must:

Complete England Hockey's Participation Agreement for every player

(This should be completed by the Parents of U18s. It can also take up to 24 hours for England Hockey to pass this information on to us so we suggest you do this soon!)

To enable us to meet the requirements set by England Hockey you must:

Complete the Leeds Hockey Club Club Buzz Sign Up Questionnaire

(Once it is up and running will be using ClubBuzz to manage our data that needs to be provided to England Hockey and player availability)

If you haven't done the above, we cannot let you play as we require these details.

The events take place between 7pm and 9pm on Monday's and Thursday's on Pitch 2 (Bottom Pitch) at Weetwood. These sessions have been split into two 55 minute sessions to allow us to get as many people back on the pitch as possible.

Availability

We currently have three availability questionnaires:

Players

Volunteers

Umpires

Please use the hyperlinks above to register your interest.

Anybody volunteering or umpiring will get a priority place in a following Return to Hockey session if they wish to have it.

Selection of participants:

We have been asked why are we not running these sessions as first come, first served. We believe that whilst this would create much less work for those organising the events, this would not be fair on those members who might not be at a computer when the event email comes out.

These sessions are open to all LHC members and prospective members who have:

a) completed the England Hockey Participation Agreement

b) given LHC their information via the ClubBuzz sign up Survey

c) are eligible to play senior hockey in the 2020/21 season

d) are not due to attend a Performance or Junior session on that day (these are being organised separately and if you or your child are due to participate in these you are being contacted separately).

E-Mails:

We are aware that the selection emails are going into peoples Spam folders. This is partly because we now using @leedshockey.co.uk email addresses.

We ask that you mark our domain as safe or at least covid@leedshockey.co.uk and info@leedshockey.co.uk

For Hotmail/Outlook. Gmail and Yahoo! email providers please find instructions on how to add us to your Safe Senders list here.

The session:

Before a session a selected participant will receive an email. This will include the session you are to attend and the shirt colour you are to wear in both the e-mail and the subject line.

We have been asked by Weetwood that we only use the Top Car Park. This is to separate users of Sports Park Weetwood from Weetwood Hall.

Please walk down to the pitches against the stone wall, and up to the car park on the side of the access road with the Grass.

The Return to Hockey sessions will cost £5 per player. Our preferred method of payment is by CONTACTLESS PAYMENT. We have the Club card readers with us to your payment. We do accept that some Juniors will need to pay with Cash and we will have facilities on hand to accept cash but we will not provide change so please ensure you either use a £5 note or exact change.

Please ensure that you arrive ready for the session to begin and with a bottle of hand sanitiser in addition to your normal kit.

Symptoms:

If you exhibit any of the following symptoms, please do not attend ANY hockey session at LHC.

  1. Raised Temperature
  2. New continuous cough
  3. A loss or change to your sense of smell and/or taste

If you experience any of these symptoms within 14 days of attending ANY hockey session at LHC, please contact covid@leedshockey.co.uk to let them know.

And Finally:

We also suggest that members read:
