Virtual Job Fair, August 7:

 

Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)'s virtual job fair connects healthcare sites with job-seeking primary care trainees and practicing clinicians. Participants include medical, nursing, dental, and mental/behavioral health clinicians and trainees. The next free virtual job fair is Wednesday, August 7, 6:45-10:45 PM ET. If you are seeking employment, register to participate as an employee. If you are looking for people to hire, register to participate as a recruiter.

First Friday Forum, August 2nd:

 

Introductory Topics in Forensic Psychology:  Overview of the Field, Getting Started, and Tips for the Reluctant Forensic Psychologist

 

This is an introductory level program about forensic psychology. 

 

Participants would be able to:

  1. Recognize how forensic practice differs in content, methods, and assumptions from clinical practice.
  2. Apply principles of forensic work in their practice when confronted with court orders, subpoenas, and requests from attorneys.
  3. Demonstrate an increased ability to communicate psychological information understandably to legal professionals.

Join us at the Minnesota State Fair on Monday, August 26 in Dan Patch Park! The MN State Fair will have a dedicated day to focus on Mental Health Awareness. Visitors can explore mental health and wellness resources through inspiring stage performances, music, demonstrations, yoga, information, and much more. The event is free with fair admission.

Implementing Behavioral Activation (BA) Across Mental Health Settings

 

This workshop focuses on core components of BA, which include providing BA rationale, assessment, activity scheduling, and strategies for unsuccessfully activation. Strategies to cope with difficult thoughts or rumination that may hinder activation will be presented.
