Moon's Nest Playschool

 ADVENTURE. play. Connection.

January 2019

News from the Moonvine

Cora, Elliot, Lorax, Ember, Sibyl; quiet moment to honor and grieve a beloved tree friend

Hey there playschool folks!

Welcome to the time of Winter.

Welcome to the time of returning light.

I pray that yer Winter Solstice rituals and

Yuletide festivities brought you enough warmth, luv,

feasting, and laughter to last your heart the Winter through.

My heart rested easy over our Winter Solstice break, up on Twisp River, with all the snow, fire, food, friends, luv, cuddles, mysteries, and adventures I could ask for. Such an abundance of blessings I find myself walking into Winter with this year. And such a stark contrast to the hard, cold, dying times of the last few winters. I give thanks, to be on the other side of all that death and rebirth, with a heart so full of life and luv.

Please do join me in honoring the return of the light and the heart's capacity for tenacious endurance with a whole 'nother month of play, adventure, and connection with our playschool family.

Drop~in Play at the Moon's Nest

Elliot, Cora, Sibyl, Lorax; recent Field Study @ Eastmoreland Nature Park

Through the year the Moon's Nest will be offering drop in play for our beloved friends who need less of a commitment and more flexibility than enrollment into our program requires.

Unlike our Monday ~ Friday programming, families are not required to officially enroll in our playschool, pay a monthly tuition, or forfeit tuition during your travel times. You decide when you want to drop your kiddo in for free play time, and for how long.

This is a great option for the unschooley parents in our extended community who may just need an occasional day to their self, parents who find themselves in a time crunch and just need some extra support to make life happen, or families who travel often and just want some familiar friends to connect and play with when in town. It's also a great option fer families who follow the Portland Public School schedule and need supplemental play days during school closures. And, all of our enrolled families are welcome to use this option for the occasional weeks when your kiddo could benefit from some additional playschool time.

All the details and FAQ's about our handy~dandy new drop~in play option

can now be found over on our updated website.

So go check it!

Portland Town Field Studies

Based off of the feedback I've gotten frum some of y'all, I've dun n' taken some time to restructure our Portland Town Field Studies program just a bit, allowing for more fluidity and more spontaneity than the previous model allowed for.

Rather than requiring enrollment into our field studies program along with an associated monthly tuition, families now have the option of

participating in our field studies offerings as their schedules

allow and based off their child's authentic interests.

Hopefully this restructuring allows us to maintain more of

the unschooley qualities so important to our playschool, as well as

gives me more freedom to offer super rad and spontaneous

Portland Town adventures as my schedule allows.

So, the new deal is as follows:

*pick and choose which field studies you'd like to RSVP for

*email me at moonsnestplayschool@gmail.com to RSVP

*put those dates in your calendar

*send payment on or prior to the day of the field study.

That's it!

Okee, thanks again fer y'alls feeback. I'm looking forward to this much simpler model for our beloved Portland Town Field Studies program!
