Hello FDDR villagers,

welcome to the FDDR Newsletter #6

Wow, hard to believe January went so fast, and we are so thankful and honored for all the support and help we receive from You our extended family.  You prove once again that not only the end of the year is the time to donate and give a helping hand. All the donations, big or small, help so much and are really appreciated by the ones in need.

This winter and its challenges are hard for all and sadly especially if you are out there calling the streets your home. Yes it is bitter cold outside and know many, many out there need your help now more then ever,

We are a Non Profit Charity and a100% volunteer organization dependent on your donations.

As you can imagine a lot of hours go into preparing for the daily route and we are looking to expand our team of volunteers to help behind the scene, like ride along, sort and organize the donations we receive, building contacts  and so much more.

You too can help FDDR or in your own neighborhood, every little gesture gives hope to others! Message us with any questions you may have and we will get back to you. Together we can make a difference!

The homeless and hungry are not invisible. Any one of us can be homeless because of an unexpected tragedy, job loss, divorce, death, etc. .Even if you have a job many families struggle to pay for everything, rent, insurance, clothing and most important food!

Food should not be a luxury and that is why we feed the homeless and hungry it’s so easy to be kind. Please be inspired and help us help others.

We don't live in a perfect world, and there's never going to be a perfect time to give - but there is always a need for your help, the reality is that when you donate your money or time, you help others who need it and it warms your heart.

A special thank you to all our riders and our cooks for making such delicious meals an also the many donors that supplied FDDR with the excess food from parties and other donations.

Some ideas to make a brighter world!

• Let your first check of the year be to charity.
• Help a friend or neighbor in need.
• Volunteer at an organization of your choice. (hint, hint FDDR)
• Buy a gift for your mother or grandmother - just because.
• Write a thank-you note to someone who won’t expect it.
• Find unneeded items in your house and donate them to a charitable organization.
• Organize some family and/or friends to make a meal for FDDR and appreciate being together.

• When you are outside, stop and look around you. Take time to appreciate nature.
• Find a piece of winter clothing that you haven’t worn all season, and donate it to a charity.

FDDR & The Sub Zero Mission

Together helping the ones in need in Detroit.

January 18 2020 was a great day for all involved. We served 85 meals and joining us in serving the homeless & hungry was The Blue Warrior crew from The Sub Zero Mission out of Ohio.

It was humbling and heartwarming to work together with them. Beside a meal we handed out many much needed items, clothing, boots, blankets, coats and so much more.

It proves once more we can make a change when we step-up and all this wouldn’t happen WITHOUT “YOU” our loyal extended family!

On 1/25/2020 we went selling 50/50 raffle tickets at the Ultimate Tribute Fest!

Big thanks to Kyle Mikolajcyck for inviting us and the 50/50 contributions from Saturdays “Ultimate Tribute Fest!”

We got $145 worth of Sweat Shirts, Hoodies & Jeans and they are now being distributed to our less fortunate members of our Metro-Detroit community.

Thanks for supporting FDDR & helping us solve some of the issues, we as a community are enduring!

Serving meals is our primary goal and our biggest need right now are cooks, people that signup on our mealtrain to prepare a meal, even if it's for a small amount of meals.10, 20, 30 or more ANY number helps FDDR and makes it possible to feed more hungry people on the street.

Most needed winter items

The cold weather with rain, snow and ice is coming fast, very fast and we like to be prepared to help them.

If you can help us with Blankets, Tents, Boots, Hoodies, Sweat pants/shirts, Socks, Gloves, Hand-warmers, did we say Hand-warmers, Tarps, Ponchos.

In short anything to keep our family in need on the streets dry and warm.

We here at FDDR promote LOVE. We always say “ One ❤️ Love ❤️ One Family.

As part of our daily feed you can see how we help our fellow men/woman!

You’re a silent viewer? You can always stay silent which is perfectly fine with us. BUT; give us a try, shout out, say hello,be a link in the chain of change!

Truly find out who we are and what our family is about. We love the interaction. We try to keep a positive feed with no judgement no questions let’s just give our people in our community a hands up not a hands down.

As we make a difference you also have a big part in what we do. There’s some out there that just need a kind word or to be noticed. Say hello to a person in line at the store, hold a door for the next person, give them a smile 😊 let’s just turn around that person’s day.

LOVE what a big word! I have found so much love with my team members and i wanna help them always be the best group we can be!! When i think of FDDR i think of ❤️ love. It’s so easy to be a part of spreading love and compassion instead of hate.

Join our team be a part of something good and share the passion we have for others. Cook a meal, sponsor a meal or help pass out food & clothing on Ziggy! Once you see and feel the love that you get from simply giving a person the only meal they may get that day you will truly see why I’ve found my new love in life. The best volunteer job i could possibly ever have.

So see the bottom line of this whole story is not me at all it’s the person we help,the LOVE we spread, the hope we give them to get through their day! That right there my friends and family is the pure ❤️ LOVE & HOPE we want to bring into our community.
