⛵️  Celebrating our #UntoldStories project  ⛵️

Last week we had a wonderful celebration of our history project funded by Untold Stories as part of the Mayor's Commission for Diversity in the Public Realm programme.
 
Guided by local historian, Rich Sylvester, we not only learnt about the history of our local area, but we created our own statues and sculptures representing our lives, our journeys and our challenges in this cityscape. We imagined a fairer and better represented world. 
 
Special thanks to Remiiya Badru for inspiring much of the artwork.

"In 20 years of exploring the history of Greenwich this work funded by #UntoldStories with the women from Creating Ground has been a most powerful experience. Their images of migrant experience, finding beauty in the city, hopes for peace, equality and justice are a step towards rebalancing the public realm of Greenwich populated by memorials to the heroes and icons of empire, colonialism and war"

💞  Coming together through dance  💞

We want to say a huge thank you to the incredibly talented team from Luca Silvestrini’s Protein for guiding our group through a beautiful process culminating in a performance that was a reflection of the power of coming together. The power of coming together across differences, coming together to support each other through the ups and downs, and helping each other to reach our full potential and flourish.

Thanks to the Brookhill Children's Centre for hosting us and to University of Greenwich for funding the project.

🌟  Community Action & Leadership course complete  🌟

Ran by our Stronger Together Leaders, we had the pleasure of training a new group of inspiring women in Community Action & Leadership, thanks to funding from Trust for London.  We look forward to welcoming the 10 participants to our team and seeing together what change we want to create in our communities.

🦋  Celebrating our Stronger Together Leaders  🦋

We are grateful to have had time for reflection and celebration for our Stronger Together Leaders. 
 
We came together to look back at all the work and achievements of 2023, celebrate our successes and discuss our hopes for 2024. Thanks to a generous donation we also got a laptop each!

Thanks to funding from Greenwich Mental Health Hub we have been running our Creativity for Wellbeing project. 
 
This term we've been getting out in nature, learning new crafts, and had guest visitors presenting about local wellbeing services. Thanks to Plumcroft Primary School for hosting us! 

Next term we'll be at the Tramshed to continue to this wellbeing project with more special guests. You can sign up below.
