Ocean Assets organized a panel on Financing the Blue Economy in Emerging Markets and SIDS during the World Ocean Council's BlueFin day on October 19th, 2022 in Barcelona. This day followed two intense days of the WOC's Sustainable Ocean Summit (Oct 17 and 18th) and preceded the Oceanovation Day on October 20th, all in Barcelona. |

Joan Fulton, COO, Ocean Assets Institute, and Valerie Hickey, Global Director of Environment, Natural Resources and the Blue Economy, World Bank, led the group discussion on Paying for Progress.... The Role of Sustainable Finance, Impact Investments, and Blue Bonds to Support Ocean Communities during the Atlantic Strategy Group's gathering in Horta, Faial, Azores (Nov 7-10, 2022). The conference held open discussions on the main theme: Towards a Sustainable Blue Economy in the Wider Atlantic. The group was a diverse set of stakeholders, e.g., diplomats, policy experts, Blue businesses, foundations, educators, politicians, MFIs, and consultants. The event was organized and sponsored by the German Marshall Fund, the Policy Center for the New South, and FLAD. |
