The Gift
Pat Graham
Through the purity of obedient servants, God chose to change the course of history. Mary, impregnated with the gift of God, and Joseph walked in submission to the revealed Word of God. It is an overwhelming thought that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. Jesus left the glory of heaven and entered the physical realm with the sole purpose of
laying down His life that we may enter the spiritual realm.
The blackened sky was studded with diamond-like stars pulsating with the knowledge of the events about to unfold. The vibration of fluttering angel wings filtered through the atmosphere, as the hosts position themselves to go forth. The shepherds note a stillness that captures their attention.
Suddenly. the scroll of heaven opens.
Behold, the angel of the Lord stood before them, and they were greatly afraid. The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born this day in the City of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men!” Luke 2:12-14 NKJ
And so, it was in the fullness of time, in accordance with God's will, at just the right moment the babe was born. For God so greatly loved the world that He gave His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. John 3:16 AMP
Perhaps the gift you're opening this Christmas season is His voice saying, "Be still and know that I am God." You may have been overwhelmed by a loss in your life, a broken relationship, sickness, a rebellious child or perhaps you haven't found your identity in Christ.
Open the gift of His peace, and receive His healing touch.
Prompted by His amazing love for us, the King of Glory came into the world He created
to reconcile us to God - Receive the Gift of Salvation!
How do we respond to this incredible gift of reconciliation?
If you’ve never received the gift of salvation, examine your life in light of His holiness. Simply pray,
Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Forgive my sins, I choose to repent and
follow you all the days of my life.
Perhaps your walk with the Lord has grown cold and you need to rededicate your life to Him. Remember this, God is still calling wisemen that seek Him and Mary's who in obedience and humility give birth to the plan of God in their lives.
Give freely this Christmas season, open you heart wide and
give the gift of Jesus, the Hope of Glory.
